And, in one post, I said perhas the word insistent is more accurate than aggresive. As for me, I have the same problem as you; to make sense out of experience. In a spiritual context, I usually separate discernment from judgment. To discern is simply to notice the situation. Judgment is that, followed by a value judgment of good or bad. I see no problem with discerning, for example, if a person's words seem to be sincere, but the value judgment serves no purpose and is problematic if acceptance is the goal.
