But such a poem can potentially convey whatever it is meant to convey without implying a reification of the nouns used. So for example, if I were to write: Pure Joy simply *is*, the brightness that remains as the white ash of self fades away. In that poem " Joy " and " brightness " are not meant to be " reified " (deified:) to be " things " . It is just a manner of speaking. If you get the drift of the poem, fine. If you don't, you don't.
