Slowly, e'er so slowly the music begins

crescendos a starry dark night into morning's good grace,

a restless blinding world is healed in deep slumber,

and if my mind be refreshed in a cool cool river

God's love e'er flowing, I shall walk with

Thee, my Lord, closer to the One I Love, and if my

eyes and ears be open in the Aum of Life,

I shall be wrapped in

the arms of my Beloved,

 

my morning eyes e'er shining in the

light of an e'er Spiritual Fire

and I, a flame, shall dance

and if the winds change my direction

my glow be not diminished,

be not forsaken,

for I

have made peace with the only world I e'er see,

my solitary life,

filled with Thee,

 

I awaken

this side of Paradise,

a painting not quite finished with all the colours

this

Dream of Life gathers into my poet hands,

into my still-beating heart,

blossoming.

 

 

 

LAKE ERIE DID NOT FREEZE THIS YEAR

 

 

Mother nature shakes the last ice crystals,

shimmering

in her awakening body,lightly starched, blue-aproned

....and I

walk out into my garden, exactly as overhead

an empty grey sky gives wings to Wild

Geese, and ancient patterned " V " , I think

for memory's sake, for victory over

time, over matter in beginnings and endings,

held closely in the cold hands of daylight today, April lst,

2006, in my little corner of the world on the

shores of Lake Erie.

 

The forsythia are blossoming, the bluebells

open their eyes, and the violet crocus bends

with the night rain,

the star magnolia is ready to burst free,

into a perfect white, into a blush of pink,

its center,

morning abounds with birdsong,

calling in soft feathers for Lovers,

hastening tiny blue eggshells,

gathering into and

 

soon breaking into another lusty song.
