Leaving Childhood Behind

It's so easy to leave childhood behind.

The good things, I mean. The bad things,

those, we carry along. Joy is left behind early on:

The joy of wondering, and of play soon dies, and

the joy of always trying new things, also, departs.

Forgive and forget is left behind too, and we learn

to hold to our grievances soon enough. Two

things that are hard to leave behind are

thinking, and reacting like a child. A serious

mistake, we often make, is not to use child

psychology when asking adults to change

any behavior. LOL

Sweet and very true. That old bag of heavy adult life

is just too heavy for some of us.

Some, though, are pretty good at holding onto

that child-like irreverence. Like, on this list,

Bob and Silver, to name a couple (not an exhaustive

list :)
