Guest guest
.... But, after all these *experiences* and *states*... many of which come and go... The most important teaching to me was what I *understood* from Ramana: ----- What is Real, *eternal* and *constant* is not the experience, the state... or the *vision* - it is the one that *SEES* them! That is the real thing... that is THAT which NEVER really changes! ------ Whatever can take birth... can die! Whatever can *happen*... can un- happen! The real neither happens nor un- happens. Real... IS... and it is IN which all the *transient* happens! ------- *Real* is the only thing worth paying *real* attention to! -------- Hold on to the *real* and unreal disappears on its won accord. The *unreal* has no power of its own! -------- Ego, false self, erroneous limited mind only takes place when the consciousness is directed outwards... away from itself! --------- There is ONLY way to " kill " the ego, the false self... it is by holding what is *real*! It is by abiding as the Real in You... and, everything false falls away on its own accord! --------- Trying to get rid of ego by *fighting* it, *denying* it is unnecessary and is likely to fail! Such *fighting* can only be done by the *ego* [mind] and whatever is done by ego merely strengthens the ego! Looking for its root... the ego is found to be non-existent! Only *real* is found to exist and *ego* merely being its unconscious 'conditioned' movement! Holding onto the real, being steady in the *real*, stops this unconscious movement. ----------If realization was something to happen in *time*, it will also dies in *time*! Therefore, *realization* is not an event in time! Events, experiences, visions, states happen and un-happen! THAT who sees them happening is Only thing Real! Hold on to that Real Only! ---------- Peace is the only thing to aim for! That is the highest state and that is also... the most *natural* and *effortless* state! --------- Habits [conditioning] is born in time, habit [conditioning] dies in time! It takes Conscious resolve and practice to make any habit [conditioning] die! -------- Ultimately, it is not really accurate to say " I am realized " nor is it accurate to say " I am not realized " ! There are NO two Realities! Real always... IS... unreal is merely a " confused thought that imagines a *thought* to be the real thinker " !
