Guest guest
When asked about suffering... the teacher smiled and said: Have you ever wondered what happens to the suffering when you change your *relationship* with it? when your relationship to it becomes that of *love*... What happens when you say... I love to the suffering and go forward to experience it with eagerness, love and welcoming acceptance... Noting my confusion and disbelief, he said, I am not asking you to create it, I am not asking you to do something to produce it, I am merely asking you to welcome and love it once it is already there! As you say, suffering is there whether you want it or not... so why not try changing your *relationship* with it... and, see what happens... ... I thought it was an interesting idea... But, a Strange thing happened when I tried to apply it... Each time I tried to really *love* it... the suffering went *missing*... But, each time, that I *hated* it... the suffering was there! Puzzled, I asked the teacher, who smiled again and said: The *other* can NOT survive in LOVE... And, the Hate can not survive without the *other*! The love transforms everything into itself... the hate transforms the whole universe into the *other*!
