I have some friends who have spent lots of time with UG. At first they liked his anti-guru stance, but then came to see it as just more shtick. He likes to stay at people's houses, eat their food, watch their TV, and tell people not to come around. Most people love to be told not to come around, and come back to hear it again and again! And these folks surmised that UG gets a secret thrill to see them come when he tells them not to come. Like a subtle kind of power play. .... > > >

At first they liked his anti-guru stance, but then came to see it as just more shtick. He likes to stay at people's houses, eat their food, watch their TV, and tell people not to come around. Like a subtle kind of power play. Hey Sarlo, you mentioned bumping up UG because of the respect he garners in some circles (some of his fans are fairly experienced in advaita circles too). To what extent are your ratings based on the popularity of the person? The comments on him are even more funin the respect of being so self-referential. I think what really pisses some folks off is his giving everything away...no copywrights or publishing rights no charging to invite him over, except he thinks it's kinda cool if you feed and shelter him while he spends his time at your invitation trying to get you to get that you already have it..and let's have fun..even if I am an asshole. That food and shelter thing, as TERRIBLE as it is..well as he says..he's gotta eat and sleep. What da frig kinda guru is that? He has the goddamn nerve to say he's human..knew he was a fake!........ .......bob > > >
