Are You Mentally Ill?

L.E: I have no idea if your brain is diseased. My idea is that disease can be

in the body, brain, mind or ego. I don't see the body and brain as the same

level of substance although the brain is also physical, it seems different

than the carrier or holder, the body.

Any or all of these perhaps can be diseased or abnormal. There are many

obvious diseases of the body, and psychological illnesses of the mind; so-called

mental illness so perhaps there are also abnormalities of the ego or sense of

self although I suppose psychiatrists would group them all together under

mental illness.

There are what are call " personality disorders' like narcissism that may be a

problem of the diseased ego, but it's hard to say if mental illness includes

the ego or if the ego is included as part of the mind.

As for you, there may exist a minor problem with the self or ego where there

is a dissociative condition that would account for your obsession with a split

consciousness or ego. I don't know for sure, but if a normal ego was one

where the organism fits into their culture harmoniously you might be considered

some kind of freak, or outsider from what I read of your arguments, attitudes

and ideas.

If you really felt there was a Len self and a separate ego self, yes, it

seems likely you are ill to some extent. Do you have problems living your daily

life and getting along with people, holding a job, or loving someone? Have you

ever seen a mental health professional? Or been tested for abnormal mental

conditions? Do you take medications that are mood altering? Or are you just a

kind of natural jerk like Bob?
