Guest guest
Some Psychologists say that the human mind is unable to comprehend negative correctly. That is one of the main reasons, they say that the resolutions like " I want to lose weight " doesn’t work! The brain forgets the " lose " part and gets obsessed with " weight " instead! OTOH... the mind understand positives quite well and, it easily understands things like " get fit " , " get healthy " , " become strong " , " fit into size six jeans " ! Another difference they say is that the " negative " are often associated with pain as this is the way the mind " sees " anything that it must eliminate, remove, must get rid of or " not tolerate " ! Further, negative usually results in split and confusion as the brain finds itself unable to really comprehend " not " !
Guest guest
.... The positive is natural for brain and therefore, it finds itself *at ease* when thinking and dealing in terms of positives. It finds this position empowering... It finds this position easy... and, it finds itself at *home* when thinking in *positives*! You can try it both ways... ----I want to get rid of noise. --- I want to get rid of thoughts. versus... ----- I want Peace! ----- I want relaxation. or, ----- I don't want pain. ----- I want to get rid of suffering. versus ------ I want happiness. ------ I want Love! I have found the second version [in both cases] relaxing, empowering, easy and effortless... [maybe, there is a good *natural* reason for That!]! I have also discovered that to " gain " Peace, Happiness, Love I need to do almost nothing At All! Peace is always there and I just sometimes lose awareness of it when my attention is totally diverted some where else [such as in getting rid of thoughts, emotions, conditioning, things that I think must be gotten rid of!]. It seems that to gain peace, happiness, love... all I really need is a reminder! Whereas, I have rarely seen " I don't want this " , " I don't want that " ... to work... [some say... " what you resist... persists”]
Guest guest
> > I have seen that these *mental* > 'conditions' of pain, suffering doesn't > really disappear because I *kill* them... > > they disappear simply because I [mind, > brains, consciousness] move to some > place else... > > Some place [state, condition] called > Peace, Happiness, and Love! > > > All I really need to is *remind* > myself [brain, mind, consciousness] of > that and the brain takes care of > *creating* [or *re-visiting*, *remembering*] it! > > .... When dealing with real-life situations, people, projects too... I find this phenomenon work... When I think, I don't want X to talk to me harshly... I find myself " lost " , 'not having any real power', 'not having any real way' and I might end up fighting a futile war! Whereas, when I focus on I want X to behave or speak nicely... First, I feel Real, at home and empowered Second, it reminds me of " reality " [whether it is possible for X to speak nicely... does X speaks nicely to anyone at all!]... Third, it immediately shows me the way and reminds me of things that I can do to make X speak nicely! It empowers me and it shows me the Way! It works in similar way with " I don't want my house to get dirty " versus " I want to maintain a clean house " or " I want to create a fully functional, reliable and efficient SOAP client " versus " I don't want to fail my manager " ! .... Some say it is as simple as the phenomenon that works when learning to ride a bicycle: ----When you focus on the road blocks, people things that you " don't want to hit " ... you end up hitting them! ----- When you focus on finding and riding the way... you find and maintain it! Or, the phenomenon that works in... " don't think of monkey while taking the medicine " ... A much easier and greatly effective way is to focus on thinking or doing something else [in place of *not thinking* something]!
