Some Psychologists say that the human mind is unable to comprehend negative correctly. That is one of the main reasons, they say that the resolutions like " I want to lose weight " doesn’t work! The brain forgets the " lose " part and gets obsessed with " weight " instead! OTOH... the mind understand positives quite well and, it easily understands things like " get fit " , " get healthy " , " become strong " , " fit into size six jeans " ! Another difference they say is that the " negative " are often associated with pain as this is the way the mind " sees " anything that it must eliminate, remove, must get rid of or " not tolerate " ! Further, negative usually results in split and confusion as the brain finds itself unable to really comprehend " not " ! I agree with the idea that mind can't do a negative, but it's not a comprehension problem. The mind is a 'doing' thing by design. The mind cannot 'not do' something. This is why welcoming resistance is more effective than not resisting. The former gives the doing mind something to do, while the end result is the same.
