Can you imagine the state you would be in

if all your wishes were fulfilled,

if all your desires were met,

if you had everything you wanted...

Can you imagine how would it feel?

Can you imagine it now?

Can you feel it now?

...

Now imagine the state that you are in now in your " real file " ...

In which, you might still have things to achieve, wishes unfulfilled...

how does it feel?

...

Now notice the " difference " between the two states...

Is it anything other than " thoughts " ... [or, lack of them]?

Can you imagine no-state at all?

That`s not possible.

Yet that`s It.

Are you suggesting thoughts can be effectively selected or controlled?

Whenever, I end up in that state;

I notice that I lose my reasons to 'think'...

Whenever, I lose my reasons to think,

I notice that I lose my thoughts...

Whenever, I lose my thoughts, I notice

that I lose my 'body'...

Whenever, I lose my 'body'... I lose

the difference between the birth and

death, between the alive and dead...

It seems " thought " ...is... " my " birth!

It seems that the " body " is a 'punishment' that

I choose to bear in order to fulfill

some desires, some wishes, some

thoughts that I have, some things that

I believe I " need to " do!

It seems that body is the CROSS...

on which I choose to crucifixion...

It seems that the similarity between

the shape of cross and body is not just

'accidental'...

maybe, there is some symbolic meaning

that was intended to be conveyed by it...

When I think I have done all I needed to do,

when I think I have all I wanted to have,

I notice that I lose my reasons to think...

When I lose my reasons to think...

I notice that 'what I have' and 'what I

don't have' stops mattering...

It seems then " matter " only in... " my thoughts " ...

Yet, when I think " I have got them all " ...

my thoughts stop... and,

when my thoughts stop,

they [those things] stop mattering too...

[it seems that 'getting things' only

means what I can no longer use them to

torture myself!

As long as I have don't have them, I

can still use thoughts of *lacking*

them to torture myself!

But, if I somehow 'get' them, I need to quickly

look for the *lack* of something else that I can

now use to keep the 'torture' going...]

Yes, I am saying that.

difficult or special either!

Yes, I am saying that.

And, I don't think doing so is that

difficult or special either!

I don't mean to imply it's not working for you. If it is, then it is, but

I've given up such attempts because it's no longer aligned with my

understanding. Of course, it is effective in bringing about short term

experiences that

are very pleasant, but it sounds like you're talking about a continuous

process.

I find that control is an illusion and also resistance, whereas my approach

is acceptance/nonresistance. I've also noticed that thought doesn't seem to

pop into conscious awareness all at once, but rather arises from deeper levels

of consciousness, emerging into awareness. Of course, it wouldn't be possible

to control the thoughts that wander around in the unconscious, and I have a

concern that conscious suppression exacerbates unconscious activity. Do you

share any of those concerns?

Yes. And, IMO... every ego does it

sometimes consciously and

most other times unconsciously.

It´s clear that you put a lot of effort in convincing yourself that

effort is folly ;-)

I consider effort as the most efficient blindfold there is.

Quite so!

And any kind of becoming is effort, yes?

Any endeavor to be *a particular way*.

Carrying eight bags of groceries up two flights

of stairs is not effort in this sense. But

trying to be at peace about something is.
