I discovered that #1 such cause is: - Fear It seems human psyche is conditioned to always look for a danger! Perhaps, this is training and conditioning that has been shaped by evolution itself! Perhaps it is created by many years of living in which survival has been the #1 concern and possibility of a predatory attack has been sensed as being around any moment! It can be guessed that when monkey eats a fruit in deep jungle full of tigers, lions, wolfs, chimps , many predators as well as other monkeys... it may not be at complete peace, complete ease, complete relaxation even while eating it! It eyes keep moving looking out for any unwanted intruder and for any possibility of danger! Even when it eyes is at food, corner of its eyes are still looking for 'others'! Perhaps, our underlying fear too has been wired into our genes by the same/similar *fearful living* that human ancestors as well as humans themselves have lived! Only the image of predators have somewhat changed and now we have started seeing them as bosses, competitors, 'spouses', 'parents', 'friends', 'lovers' enemies and even the image of fear too has somewhat changed from just fearing *physical death* to including *psychological loss* and *psychological death*! Thus, now fear not only include things that are directly related to *survival* such as possibility of losing a job; they also include things like 'losing face', 'losing respect', 'losing image', 'losing pride', 'being looked down upon', 'being ridiculed', 'being laughed at' ... 'being rejected'! ---- [PS: About 8 years back, then CEO of Intel wrote a very successful book: " Only the Paranoid Survive " ! Like our animal ancestors, this seem to tout the *survival* value of *fear*! Many other CEO, executives, generals and managers too have used *fear* successfully to run their enterprises and armies! It seems a deeper level human psyche understands the value of fear as a survival trait and as a result rarely lets go of it as long as *survival* is its First Priority!]

I noticed that as long there is this *desire to live*, fear too persists!... because that which is being 'persisted' is indeed quite 'fragile' and its 'fragility' is known to all including its 'holder'! And, I also noticed that the *Survival Instinct* is woven to a level much deeper than the level of 'intellect'! At physical level, it manifests in examples such as a sudden surge on hearing alarming sound, on witnessing a danger sign! This 'impulse' takes place even before the intellect has a chance to understand and decode... 'what happened'! At psychological level too, the 'circuitry' works pretty much the same way! That which is _not yet fully understood_ causes fear! Once fully understood, the 'circuitry' learns to deal with it without using the survival response of fear. And, it gains the ability to look at the _understood_ situation with new clarity and deal with it with efficiently with the newly acquired skill! However, this _understanding_ doesn't happen, if things are not accepted, seen and examined Clearly, Directly... face-to-face! This understanding doesn't happen when things and situations are faced only with avoidance, escape, half- heartedness, half consciousness! In this mode, the 'circuitry' doesn't get to understand the things and situation. The 'yet not learned' situation still remains a _Mystery_ to it and whenever it encounters it again, it just repeats the same cycle of... fear, avoidance, escape, half-heartedness and lack of understanding that it has executed before! Guest guest
I noticed that the Peace is when _thoughts_, _emotions_ and _actions_ are aligned! Full understanding of any situation brings emotions in alignment with _clear_ thoughts! Clarity of thoughts and alignment of emotions with clear thoughts results in actions that are aligned with thought and emotions! And, that alignment brings Peace! I saw that when faced with a new situation, first _built in_ *animal* response that comes into play is the response of *survival* which results in emotions of fear and responses of Fight/Run Away! I saw that this _automatic_ Animal response prevents the real human understanding of the situation from taking place! It creates a _rut_ and the same cycle keeps repeating whenever we are faced with this situation! The Upward Human *evolution* takes place when the human decides to override the built-in animal *impulse*! It involves looking at the situation Clearly, Directly, Face-to-Face. On doing so human capacity of _understanding_ comes into play and the situation is understood, decoded and _stored_ for future dealings! Next time when a similar situation is faced again, the human responses [like understanding, kindness, compassion, love, laughter, reason, logic] arise in place of animal survival response that occur in face of any _Not Yet Understood_ phenomenon! The full understanding of things and situations brings _in built_ animal in- line with *evolving* human and when that happens, Peace ensues! As I understood, clearly seeing and understanding every situation is akin to taking part in upward human evolution! Blindly falling prey to first _animal_ survival response is being stuck in the Cycle Of Fear!
