Guest guest
Pete, W: Taking the sharpest razor blade to cut through consciousness til you reached the neurons won't help to escape the realization that consciousness factually is just a function needed for communication. P: Ja, lieb kamerad, I know that you are fond of that theory, but think that communication also happens at the cellular level, and below, at the atomic level. it's only when pain appears that consciousness is really needed because without it, pains means not a thing. So yes, groups of self supporting organisms need consciousness to act as a group, but that is and added bonus, rather than a reason to be. NNB Consciousness works serial, else you couldn't listen to a symphony or understand spoken sentences. Sound is shifted into consciousness and becomes memory til it fades away. Only because that memorized sound is hold for a while in consciousness you can listen to music. Same with waching a movie. You can only see a movie as " living " because the single pictures got shifted serially into consciousness and are stored there for a short moment. I remember my last LSD trip I took 35 years ago in a Munich park . I suddenly saw the single pictures of my view, similar like a card deck you spread on a table. Because of that I tolally lost orientation, just seeing the world as single pictures will freeze you on the spot. Then i realized if I turn arround myself then this movement is fast enough to melt those pictures together to represent a vivid orientation. And so I danced like a whirling derwish for about two hours throught that park in Munich in order not to lose orientation. Thanks heaven it was arround midnight and I didn't meet a single person Werner Nisargadatta , Pete S <pedsie5 wrote: > > Speculating about consciousness, just > because speculating is fun, I would say, > consciousness could very well be the > neuron's state of equilibrium. Guest guest
Pete, When you and I are communicating, do we communicate on a cellular level or do we use the interenet, language and computer ? Ok, why can't you accept we are social beings and we communicate on that social level and why do you have to escape into cells and neurons ? Are you conscious of your cells communicating with each other ? No, you are not. And now we speak about CONSCIOUSNESS, the topic is consciousness, to remind you. The topic is NOT communication. Please take a break and ponder about that consciousness is just a function needed for comunication. If you give up your resistance you will find hundreds of examples which will prove that it is true.
