Guest guest
Big mind tends small mind's belongings, as Suzuki Roshi put it, like a large pasture tends a wild horse. He said if you put that wild horse -- our ordinary grief, our angry confusion -- in a constricting stall (small mind) it will go mad kicking out the slats, a danger to all including itself. But that same wild horse, given the lush green vistas and wildflower expanses of a large pasture (big mind), will buck and snort at first, but eventually settle down, roll in the grass and rest quietly. -- Stephen and Ondrea Levine
