Guest guest
5/6/06 L.E: Today I am at Dominquez High School in Compton California, USA. I am substitute teaching Mr. Vedder's Computer Education class, so the room is filled with computers. I have at least one hour free so here I am hacking away on the Niz which I really enjoy. There are not many things I enjoy. I don't smoke, drink or use drugs and am not interested in sports. I am single and unmarried so I don't carry those burdens and pleasures. I like making art and playing guitar, piano and singing, and have just completed a new song. I watch too much TV when I am home, but now, I am out of town, in Compton, living in my RV for a few days so there is no TV in my mobile home, and I listen instead to the radio. We receive KPFK a non-commercial radio station so I usually stay turned to that station which is progressive radio. This means the content is ultra-liberal rather than conservative. Sometimes I listen to religious christian radio or ultra conservative radio stations just to keep up and try to understand others, which are part of myself. The other day I bought some magnet inkjet paper. When it is printed, it sticks to metal as an 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet. So I designed a layout saying: English Lessons: We come to you, Larry Epston: BA, MA, MCE, call---phone number. I am sticking five of these to my R.V. It's like fishing. Maybe I'll get a nibble. I taught English in Korea for three years, so I like teaching English. And Kim Chee as well. So there you are. Whether you care or not. They may think you're marking the work before it's done. Just a little tip. .......bob >

Humans are more than social animals, they are a social product. As a fish can't be a fish for long without water, a human can't feel human for long without company. The need to share our story with others is always a call for companionship and validation. Some feel this need more than others. Some are insatiable in their need for approval, fearful of rejection, ambivalent, wanting company, and yet driving people away with their demands for constant admiration. Let's hope, Larry, will find an admiring companion to share his life.

" Unless you are agreeing with my view that a human being is a community or cooperative of cells and organs trying to survive. I don't know what you mean by " social product. " You don't explain much here. There is a lot of difference between the need for air or water, and the need for company. Some people seem to do quite well living alone. All those negative qualities you mention probably do exist in some people, yet you are implying that I am one of these people. That's quite negative and mean-spirited. Why do you assume I have no one to share my life as if I am one of those with those painful characteristics? What is driving you to say these things? Do you have a life as is said? My sense of things is that ordinary life and spiritual life are the same or inversions of each other, or expressions of each other. There is no barrier between so called inner life and outer life, so I am comfortable talking about both withcomfort and ease. Are you? What about you Pete? Is there any more to your life than a line of print on a computer screen? What have you been up to lately? Larry Epston
