But ignoring them is the most compassionate response, in my view. LE: It seems that the most compassionate thing to do is to join in the fun and throw feces along with everyone else, otherwise the group will hate you for being arrogant, superior, and a snob. Ignoring will be seen as self-centered, egotistical, and unacceptable. Ahh, my friend, perhaps there is a method to the madness. After all, how long can one scream into the void, listening for an echo, before it becomes clear that the echo is silenced in revulsion? In many tribal cultures, inappropriate behavior is dealt with by simple banishment from the community. The turning of one's back on his fellow member instantly and permanently severed all personal ties to the community....... and it's heart. We can at least appreciate the elegant simplicity of this gesture. I remember the first day I came to this list I called myself a spiritual warrior. The first person I stumbled into was Werner who pointed out to me that he hates me, whereupon I pointed out to him why that was so. Hehe. Remember that, Ana? Your response to that was that you'd love me forever, and I know that you still mean that. We all know what happens to warriors who live by the sword, especially if it's a sword of truth wielded by a babbling fool. My sincere apologies to anyone I offended. I promise you there was never a moment of judgment. It's time I wandered off into the wilderness, but I sincerely wish you all the best in this most excellent of dreams.
