Guest guest
The dolphins were on the move. Gambolling along side our boat, they were chirping in a cacophony of sound that seemed to be a resounding cry of unbounded joy at just being alive and being there. And while those playful creatures went about their skylarking in and above and through the salty blue, I became aware of one in particular, who seemed to set him/herself apart from the rest. It was a phenomenon really. That this one in particular seemed to be trying to communicate something beyond the sheer rejoicing of the others, was evident to all and sundry aboard ship. But I in particular, regarding that one in particular, seemed to sink into a brooding concentration. By his mere look and manner, as he approaced the starboard side, alone and unafraid, and seemingly in need of telling me something of great import, I knew that THIS was a special Omen of sorts. I would tell more of that fateful day and the message of the bottlenose but for one small problem: I couldn't make out what he was saying because of his dialect. It was foriegn and different from others that I had conversed with. This all may sound strange and unbelievable and it is in fact both. But I must confess, whenever I read the original Sanskrit writings of the great Vedic Seers, I encounter the same problem. Sanskrit is not my native tongue and it seems that one would need at least several tongues to pronounce some of those really long words. If I may be permitted a fave Larryism of mine:... " and so it goes " ....... ..........bob
