< Your French saying seems applicable only in the sense of " moral

< betterment through imposed ideals " -- you can certainly make a better

Thanks for pointing out and making clear the distinction, Dan. I left

out mentioning I was referring to the " psychological/emotional " pursuit

of the " better " (or *different* or *other*) as being an act of violence

rather than, as you said, that of making a better sandwich. Come to

think of it, seems to me that most *shoulds* initiate and perpetuate a

lot of violence against oneself, others, and the world. Whereas

*clarity*, it appears to me, is never violent...even though it may

express itself *forcefully* for lack of a better word.

Yes, well-said.

 

It is the violence I am doing to myself that requires immediate

attention.

 

But my attention is going to everything but that!

 

It's called " keeping myself in ignorance " which is really the basis

of this kind of violence.
