Hey Arvind - It reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode (based on a short story by Clifford Simak) in which humans made contacts with extraterrestrials, and were able to decode the title of one of the extraterrestrials' books. It was " How to Serve Humanity. " Everyone was very happy, and held press conferences about our new friends. Then, the experts decoded more of the book, and issued a new release of information: " It's a cook-book. " Well, that's one thought, albeit a tangential one. Another thought I had about " serving life " is that John Gaddi (incarcerated Mafioso) probably viewed that term differently than Ramana Maharshi. But, if you want a unanimous understanding of the term, ask any bacterium, who will tell you: " Of course human beings serve life -- they have no choice! " -- Dan As Dan points it, it isn`t a matter of choice or personal effort. It is about taking in, being with completely, being permeable.. It feels heavy but not in the ordinary sense of weight, it takes a shift of focus, not being caught in drama but staying put in Unmovable reality and then holding its manifestation. Resisting serving life seems to be the most common miserie of human kind. Because love never loves for himself.
