Why is this list??

I am still a new guy here and have some new guy comments.

As has just been said or implied, there is too much irrelevant verbal

masturbating going on here.

Will someone tell me what purpose they think this list serves, or

would like this list to serve?

It has gotten to the point that I only read responses to my

originations, and anything Bill has to say.

I think that arguing is just thinkingness and stories. I think that

debates, on average, should not go on for more than three or four

posts per thread. I would like to see all of us point fingers at the

moon, (which is different than telling stories), state their personal

realizations, quotes they think will be helpful to us, ask questions,

point us to interesting web sites, be a little humorous once in a

while... and ... what else???:-)

I noticed that on occasion, when some of you write a post that you

want someone in particular to be sure to read, you include their name

in the subject. I think that is a useful and efficient idea:-)

L.E: This list is under the supervision and control of one person: Hur. What

happens here is up to him. This is not a democracy. If you only find one

person to read, then read the one person. I don't find many I want to read

either, but feel glad to experience those I respect. There is one person on

this list I find especially repulsive and obnoxious, foul and obscene, but some

others seem to like him. So whatever. This list is what it is, take it or

leave it. Hur doesn't seem to want to change much. So, your suggestions are

most likely to be ignored and no responsible discussion will ensure. You will

be fortunate if someone doesn't insult you and your efforts. Nisargadatta's

writings exist and we can enjoy or respond to them and whatever other issues you

want to share. If people want to jerk-off they will and you can walk around it

or step in it; your choice.

This list is moderated only in the mildest sense of the

term. So some real garbage can be found here.

You can check the homepage for the purported purpose.

Basically, on-topic here is to be about nonduality.

There are quite a few here that originate excellent posts. For

example, there was a recent post with the subject " I am "

that I hope you didn't pass over.

Not long ago I decided to stay out of the intellectual debates.

To point out the flaws in someone's reasoning, I finally came

to realize, is a waste.

Nothing surpases speaking directly, in the now, of one's own

experience *as* experienced.

Some pills hurt to swallow, especially when there's something

(image) to defend.

I can see you'd like to have more control of the content on this

group as many others posting here would.

Problem being that of lack of control in our lives spilling into

every other area, including here.

Everyone clingning to something, even a pain or addiction just to

prove our control/existence in one area.

Surely we must all have realised on some level that the true master

need not control his environment, but plays the hand he's been

dealt, and in such a way that we gaze in awe?

Can any of actually control whats going to happen in this next

second? Makes you feel small doesn't it?

Cred to Hur for doing an exellent job.

In the truest sense, the only thing we ever work on is ourselves.

We are, of course, mirrors of one another. And this is how we

learn and teach the One teaching: I Am that I Am. All the rest

are layers of humanity and upbringing: home and religious,

intellect/reason/education, geographic placement, social and familial

order, sex, and all the rest of the millions of things that make you

YOU and i I.

'You' could have been anyone, you could have been me. Be gentle

with us.

It has been said that what we teach we want to learn.

I'm not sure how accurate it's to claim that I control anything. I

cannot even control myself. There may be some posts " repulsive and

obnoxious " at times...and yes life can be like that at times... but

it all depends from whose perspective...did you notice it's usually

the Others...never " me " ? I have yet to encounter one single person

who admits how self-absorbed, delusional their ideas are...besides if

they were truly delusional, how would they know? Unless someone from

outside their world would tell them. Then all hell breaks loose. I've

always found it strange that for a (non-dual) perspective that claims

there's no me, non-dual scene attracts some of the strangest

characters. It's not my job to be a babysitter but if anyone

continues to be abusive in this group they will be evicted to Judi's

ranch.
