No Form Creates Itself

 

No form creates itself.

It is all derivative,

Coming from somewhere,

Inside, outside, or here and now,

It emerges out of itself ,

Not describable in words,

It cannot be captured in human sounds,

Symbols or representations.

 

Everything is included,

All the pleasure and pain,

The real and the unreal,

The substantial and the imaginary,

The mind and the not mind,

The ego and that which embraces ego,

All the selves and non-selves are included.

 

 

There is no exclusion or exception

No place to hide or separate

From its embrace.

Hand over hand, fist over fist,

We deny it and try to stand alone,

But there is no place to stand

Where we can be objective

Or outside of it.

 

You cannot grasp it in words,

Your agreement with one another

Is futile. Every thought, every gesture,

Every gasp or pain and despair,

Of organic and orgiastic pleasure

Only echoes as endless reflections.

 

Admit it and accept it.

We have no choice,

Yet still we choose,

And that is also included.

We are wise, we are foolish,

We are kind, we are merciless,

We forgive and condemn,

We spill rivers of blood

And fertilize the soil,

Feeding the worms and microbes.

The flies laugh at our death

And feast on the bodies

Laying still on the battlefield.

 

Buried, we rot into the heart of earth

Feeding the multitudes with their

Little claws and mouths

So much noise and so little

Of consequence, as we ride

This thin film of living tissue

Fastened to the surface of the floating rock

Called earth.

We are One of a kind

creatures of a lonely night

feasting on the pleasures of daylight skin

and the road is long

and the path is short

 

winding the curve of grace,

there by the silver moon, birth cries,

shouts

of humanity, echoes of a

wolf's yearning howl.
