L.E: Do fish, lobsters, whales, dolphins, cows, etc,

have a " me? " 0r just humans? And were we ever human without a " me? " Or is

being human and the sense of " me " intrincially tied together?

Why wouldn't they? They have expectation, hence, a sense of the

difference between one thing and another, thus, separation.

Moreover, every living creature as a built-in survival mechanism.

Proving once and for all, there is separation.

.....And

only humans have a built-in conscious awareness of what it means to

be separate and not, if we so choose to.

n'est pas? or is it n'est ce pas? ;-)

I prefer 'n'est ce pas,' myself. But how do you know what other

creatures have or don't have, subjectively? Seems a bit of a conceit,

to me. It justifies our cruelty and our aloofness, not just from

other sentient beings, but from ourselves. But then, I don't know why

you'd say that. Why do you?

War and peace and everything in between, and beyond, is the

natural/unnatural state of things, from my point(s) of view.

I know 'nothing' about other creatures, including 'you'; however I

do know how humans 'create' separation and lend to it justification

to do our doing, both good and 'bad'. This is the very essence of

survival mechanisms.

It is an inherent and intrinsic human trait. But as far as I know

who knows, perhaps the monkey world is evolving a humanity (as shown

by Koko and her amazing empathy and 'love', and humans are evolving

to 'god knows where, god knows why, and who knows God:-)

Make any sense, this non-sense of mouthing words across computer

screens? WHY?

Just because, we are. Just because we are One split into Two and

forever are trying to reunite in every peculiar and particular way.

Even war is proof of that. How? Survival. Who survives? The One

who is alive. And we here on these lists are doing the same thing,

we expand, expound, compound and fracture everything within our

meager and minute power to prove that we ARE.

Everything is a modification of that. Until the dust settles. ;-)

So what remains? What makes sense? What gives credence to the act

of Life and living in this Noah's ark? Love, my friend. Only love

and our tiny viewpoint and one sweet day, when we have reached the

silence of the sun, moon and stars, a child will point and ask what

is that shining in the sky?

And we are blessed, Tiny Tim, each and every one.

Hugs,

Ana

Yea.

" What fools these mortals be, "

~ Puck, " Midsummer Night's Dream. "

It's all such lovable folly.

In my folly, I've never loved anything but fools and folly.

Have you?

The sense of a separate self is a conceptual construct unique to humans.

Once that is seen....a non-conceptual naturalness breaks through and the

'meness' becomes translucent.

It is still there....but functions in an impersonal manner.

..............and where it used to be the dominant force.........comes

the most

unspeakable ....familiar comfortableness.

A far more profound conceit is the belief that it is you who dispenses

the cruelty.

A point of view concerning the conceptual world is useless.

There was never a reference to 'your' conceit.

It was a pointing to the conceit of all identified entities.

Defend your illusion of self as you will....but keep in mind...there

is a far more expansive opportunity.

You are responding to the letter.....and not to the spirit.

Defend your illusion of seriousness as you will....but keep in

mind...there

is a far more expansive levity.
