Guest guest
In the dialogues of " Nectar of Mortality " , Nisargadatta talks about the " Vital Breath " , or " Prana " . As well as staying with the thought- sense-feeling " I am " , he also advises that one should abide in the Vital Breath and worship the Vital Breath. The Vital Breath, or Prana, is also known as the " Lifeforce " . I kind of understand what the lifeforce is conceptually, but I wonder if anyone can explain how we are supposed to abide in it, or worship it? But I will share what comes to mind for me, now: whatever we attend to most is what we worship. A lover who can only think of his or her beloved is, in effect, worshiping. So, too, a businessman with money, religious worship of whatever god/dess. A seeker is worshiping seeking. A hateful one is worshiping hate. So, to me, N is not only saying to attend most to breath, he is also, and most importantly, I feel, saying, DON'T worship that other stuff. ~*~

Do you think N is talking about breath/breathing, or does Prana have a broader meaning. What about " lifeforce " ?

That broader meaning is one of ease, when the breathing is easy -- and stress, when the breathing is hard. I think you'll probably learn more about Prana and " lifeforce " in the moments when you attend to your breathing. (On the other hand, I worship ease, her son, easier and their spirit, easiest. For me, these are Prana, lifeforce, etc.) :-) ~*~
