A realization

I was listening to a podcast recorded by a student of Zen, a Michael

McAlister. The URL is

http://infinitesmile.org/

The specific podcast is " 1/7/2006 ISmile95 - " It Is Not About Intellect " " .

When the podcast ended I experienced the following realization:

-----

The shock that stops the mind:

I seek a new anchor to hold onto.

I am offered one that would be far more desirable than the one that

I am now grasping.

I completely let go of the old anchor while fixing all of my

attention upon the new one.

I jump to the new anchor… but suddenly I see that it was a mirage,

that there is nothing at all there for me to grasp!!!

I am shocked, and I am stopped.

When there is nothing to hold onto nor any expectation nor hope of

finding something to grasp… there is no one to do the grasping.

------

ah, so

so there is falling

and grasping

the wild strawberry

plucked

succulent

For me it seems like an endless falling into the unknown, of

noticing how and when I start grasping to thin air, and I once

again release my grasp and fall into the unknown, knowing a little

more of what can never be truly known, only lived. And in that

moment of realization, I disappear. Ever the same simultaneous

movement. The wave returns to the sea inside me.

Blessings and peace,

Ana
