You, as a separate entity, want to know That which is, as the Absolute. It can`t be done because you are the Absolute. You are Yourself. How could you not be? Only in a dream can you pretend not to be yourself. ~~~ > > > > > _________________________ Mail réinvente le mail ! Découvrez le nouveau Mail et son interface révolutionnaire. http://fr.mail. I question the, " You are Yourself. " Is there ever a moment in which one has such a recognition? It seems to me that the dreaming just becomes more subtle, more refined. Thoughts go away and there are " energy flows " , " deep states " , experiences of luminousness, etc. And then perhaps we call all that an experience of the Absolute, or we call a " sense of background " to all that " the Absolute " . Perhaps the dreaming does become more " pure " in some real sense, less " confused " ... but to say you come to know Yourself? Are you talking about every moment there is a " sense of Yourself " ? Are you talking about *some* such moments? How is it any more than ever-more empty, ever-more transparent dreaming? In an earlier post I talked about the emptiness/Emptiness... and there is a persistence, it would seem, of that Emptiness... so perhaps that is what you mean by Yourself. But then it is a matter of different semantic preferences. If that *is* what you mean by Yourself (emptiness)... than to me, well, I just don't like that word for it. It seems to damn " personal " a word, too social a word, for something that is so beyond all that. Bill > Only in a dream can you pretend not to be yourself.
