BOLD ADVISER TO ERRING EMPEROR

There may be a few persons who can fearlessly tender advice to erring

individuals and those holding power but are prone to misuse their

positions. By virtue of their own impeccable character, these few have

the right but invariably may remain unconcerned about atrocities being

committed by some. Though such upright men may point out the facts

boldly, fewer will be the number who will listen to their suggestions

and follow them. But sincere as they are, these men of virtue,

unmindful of consequences will not fail to sound the note of caution,

whether it is welcomed or disliked.

In the Mahabharata, Vidhura, who is portrayed as the symbol of

righteousness, has expounded the code of conduct, to the blind king

Dhritarashtra whose mind was immersed in confusion, unable to

distinguish between the good and the evil. Attachment made him

indirectly support the evil designs of his sons. Vidhura did not

hesitate to tell him, at every opportune moment, that he should give

back the territory to his brother's sons, the Pandavas.

3. SAI IN DREAMS:

http://www.ettitudemedia.com

These are the dream sequences and messages as received by SaiBaNiSa Ji

From our beloved GURU LORD SAINATH OF SHIRIDI. In Anticipation that

this feature will help in one's spiritual growth are hereby compiled

from his personal Diary and presented to SAIBANDHUS.

Translated and presented by RAGHU RAMAN SATULURY.

22-07-1994

It was the auspicious occasion of Gurupurnima. I prayed Lord Sainath

and asked HIM- `What Gurudakshina should I give HIM'.

Sri SAI appeared in the form of an unknown person and said- " Give all

the weaknesses of yours as Gurudakshina to me- love for relatives,

wife, mother, love for other women and lastly the greed for money " . I

got up from sleep and decided to do as directed.

Minimize the attachments, while slowly working for the state of

selflessness.

23-07-1994

Yesterday was Gurupurnima. I could not participate in the Satsangh nor

visit Sai temple. On the way back while escorting my grandson from the

Hospital, I happened to hit an old man with my scooter. At that time

my mind was pre-occupied with the on goings in the family. Required

concentration to drive on the road thus got disturbed. He was fully

dressed in white with a white beard. I took him to the Hospital, got

him treated by spending Rupees Three Hundred. Before going to bed, I

prayed SAI for pardoning me. The visual shown is as follows:

I happened to go to a Laboratory, for getting my nature /character

tested. I paid the charges of Rupees Three Hundred as demanded and

finally a report is given. I correlated it to yesterday's dream event

where in Baba has asked me to shed the weaknesses of mine. I also

happened to spend Rupees three hundred only towards the treatment of

the old man whom I caused the accident. Strangely enough, the amount

spent in the accident and the amount demanded by the Laboratory for

the test happened to be the same.

Sainath unfailingly collects Gurudakshina from HIS devotees.

25-07-1994

Yesterday, before retiring to bed, I asked Baba to tell me the code of

conduct to be maintained for advancement in the spiritual field. Sai

appeared in the form of an unknown person and said –

1. Never blame others.

2. Stop listening to bad words.

3. Do not side step for the sake of money.

4. A good work begun should end in its achievement.

5. Never discuss other women.

6. Always think of God.

Then only you have the moral right to progress in the spiritual field.

Good morals and character are the pre-requisites for the spiritual

advancement.

4. QUINTESSENCE OF SRI SAIBABA'S PHILOSOPHY:

(By Late Sri Bharam UmamaheswaraRao)

" Shashi " : shashi_31

23. Human Body is Dharmakshetra

So, one who revels in his-Self is complete. He is content `to be' and

does not depend on others or the material world for his happiness.

Contentment results because there is no scope for comparison because

this is the highest state and there is nothing further to realize.

Man can not derive contentment is relative achievements because when

he sets a record there is always the possibility of some one else

breaking that record. All material achievements are relative in

nature. True fulfillment is possible only in Self–realization. While

in bondage the aspirant acts for attaining fulfillment, after

Self–realization he acts out of fulfillment. His actions will not bind

him any more.

Even after realization, physical dependence on some one or the other

is not necessary. The devotee transfers this dependence to God: a

realized person is totally Self dependent. Hence a realized person

acts in total freedom

HARVEST, ALABAMA, USA, June 9, 2006: Hand-carved marble images of

Hindu deities gleamed with a quiet peace last week in their ground

floor storage room at the Hindu Cultural Center in Harvest. This

weekend, the six icons will be installed in their shrines in the

temple with rituals and prayers. The ceremonies at the temple, only

the second temple in Alabama, will attract Hindus from around the

area. The temple serves 700 area families, but visitors will be coming

from around the world for the ceremonies. At the center of the

three-day celebration and temple inauguration will be ritual

installation of the six Deities, the final six of nine in the temple

here. The temple, under construction for several years, features

painstaking hand decorations outside and inside. Last week, Indian

artisan Pandi Kumar used an instrument as thin as a crochet needle to

hand-work the inlays of decorative scrolls around one of the shrines.

The details help convey the intricacies of Hinduism.

LONDON, ENGLAND, June 21, 2006: Oxford University has granted the

status of Recognized Independent Centre to the Oxford Centre for Hindu

Studies (OCHS) - the world's leading centre for the study of Hindu

traditions. OCHS is the younger of the first two institutions to be

granted this status by Oxford University. It comes after just seven

years of teaching, publishing and conducting research about all

aspects of Hindu culture. The new formal status, " Recognized

Independent Centre of Oxford University, " has been created by Oxford

University to acknowledge independent institutions that are working

with the University in research and teaching.

NADI, FIJI, July 3, 2006: At least 5,000 Hindu devotees were at the

Sri Siva Subramanya Swami Temple, in Nadi, yesterday to be part of

their 12th year Mahakumbhabhishekam celebration. The festivities and

the religious ceremonies, which began on Wednesday, ended yesterday

with the final re-consecration of the temple at the Suva end of the

Nadi Town. Temple president Dorsami Naidu said this was done to mark

the completion of the renovation of the temple. The renovation is done

every 12 years, he said. The large temple was built in 1994 after

being moved from the opposite end of Nadi where the original small

temple had been built in 1920. There were 21 priests from India

joining local pundits led by chief priest Sri Ravi Gurukkal of

Tituttani, Chennai, in India, who performed the traditional Vedic and

Agamic rites.

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND, July 8, 2006:

Europe's largest Hindu temple, near Birmingham, is set to open in

August with great fanfare and elaborate rituals performed by priests

especially brought from India. The US$12 million temple, funded in

part by a grant from the Millennium Fund, stands on 12.5 acres of

former waste land. In 1992, the then Black Country Development

Corporation made the site available for this unique project. Over

10,000 people are expected to attend the five-day event which will

begin on August 23, 2006, and will culminate with the sanctification

of the majestic temple built in the same style as the famous Tirupati

temple in India. The Tirupati temple is one of the most revered

temples in India. " This is the fulfillment of a long cherished dream,

the end of a long road; and the beginning of a new era; not just for

those most closely involved with the temple project but for every

Hindu in the world, " said Dr. V. P. Narayana Rao, the chairman of

trustees.

..The opening of the temple in Tividale, near Birmingham, will be a

most remarkable religious event for 600,000 British people who belong

to the Hindu faith. It will involve the installation of the

six-foot-tall Deity of Lord Venkateshwara; a dozen Hindu priests will

perform ancient Vedic rituals to purify and sanctify the land and the

buildings.

6. SAIBANISA OFFERS PRANAMS TO " LORD SIVA "

SHRI BHIMASHANKAR in Dakini

Location of Bimashankar Jyothirlingam

On the banks of the River Chandrabhaga (Bhima) on the expansive

meadows, a large number of devotees can be seen dancing as if they are

in a trance. This is a constant scene in Pandharpur. Bheemamayya

(mother Bhima) is equated with Ganga-Bhagirathi and people take a holy

dip in this river. In Pandharpur, river Bhima came to be known as

Chandrabhaga, because it is here that Bhima curves towards Chandrakor.

River Ganga came jumping down from the Jata (Hair) of Lord Shankar,

straight through Swarg (Heaven), to the earth. Bhimamayya is the

perspiration of Lord Shankara. The origin of River Bhima is

BhimaShankar, which is one of the twelve JyotirLingas. In Maharashtra,

in Pune District in the Tehsil of Rajguru nagar (Khed) ahead of

Ghodegaon, there is Sahyadri mountain range. Bhavargiri, Rathachal and

Bhima Shankar mountains are located here. On the Bhima Shankar

Mountains, the holy shrine of Bhima Shankar is situated. Although it

is a very windy place, one does not experience any cold winds here.

There are lions in the forests here. In these thick forests there are

other wild lives too. It is a treasure of various medicinal herbs. It

is now quite easy to reach BhimaShankar. Direct and easy roadways are

laid that take the pilgrims right up to the shrine. Reaching here from

Kokanpradesh is a little difficult because of the mountain terrain.

Many years ago, Shakini and Dakini used to live in these forests. The

settlements were far and few in between. But on the festival of

Shivaratri, there is a huge gathering of crowds, which brightens up

the entire area. The devotees reach here in time and take a Darshan of

Lord BhimaShankar. A lot of improvements made here. There is a

Government guest-house also. It is said that the lions from these

forests come to the shrine every night to get a Darshan of the Lord.

Here are some of the stories attached to the JyotirLinga here.

Purana of Bhimshankar Temple

In the ancient times demons by the name Tripurasura become drunk with

power. They harassed every resident of Swarg (Heavens), Narak (Hell)

and Patal (Nether world). The divines were very scared. Then Lord

Mahadev Himself came to destroy Tripurasur. Lord Shankar assumed

colossal proportions. Tripurasur feared when they saw this Rudravatar.

The fight went on. In the end, Lord Shiva killed the wicked demon and

set the there worlds, Tribhuvan, free. Lord Shankar in the form of a

huge hunk (Virat) was very tired. In order to get some rest, He

settled here on the high area of the Sahyadri mountains sweat started

pouring down from His huge body in thousands of streams. It all joined

together and collected in a pond or Kund. The river that started from

there is known as Bhima, which can be seen even today. Devotees then

prayed to Bhimakaya Rudra thus: " In order to save the good people,

reside here forever " . Bholenath listened to the devotees and stayed

there as a JyotirLinga forever.

There was once a demon called Bhima, whose parents were Kumbhakarna

and Karkati. Demon Bhima was harassing and torturing one and all. He

was hell bent in the path of destruction of Dharma. Once he asked his

mother about the details of his father. His mother told him that his

father Kumbhakaran is the younger brother of Ravana, the king of

Lanka, who was slain by Sri Ramchandra.

" I am yet to see Lanka; I met your father on some mountains near by,

and after you were born, I continued to stay here itself. After my

husband was killed, only my parental place became a refuge of sorts

for me. My parents are Pushkasi and Karkat. When they went to eat up

Agastya the saint, he burned them to ashes with the power of his

meditation and Tapas " .

When he heard the story, he was at once eager to take revenge against

all the divines along with Hari. He began a severe penance or Tapas,

and a pleased Brahma granted him the bon of becoming a very strong

man. With this new strength, he captured all the divines including

Vishnu and Indra. They were in his control. After this he won a

victory over the great Shiva devotee Kamarupeshwar. Kamarupeshwar did

not stop his worship of Shiva even when in prison. He performed the

Puja with the same devotion, observing all the procedures his wife

also joined him in this.

On the other hand, Brahma and Vishnu along with all the other divines

started praying Shankara and of asking for deliverance from the wicked

Demon King. Shiva assured the divines and sent them home after

pacifying them.

Bheema learnt from someone that Kamarupeshwar was making preparations

to kill him. On hearing about this, he went straight to the prison and

started inquiring into the process and aim of his worship. When he

learnt the truth from the king, the wicked Demon called Lord Shiva

names and insulted Him and ordered the king to worship Bheema himself

instead. When Kamarupeshwar resisted, Bhemma attached the Linga with

his sword. Before he could strike, Shiva appeared there. A severe

fight ensued in which bows, arrows, swords, axe, the disc and trident

etc. were used. In the end, at the request of Narada, Lord Shankar

blew a fire and burned the wicked Demon Bheema to ashes. Thus the

Devas were released from their sorrows. After this, the divines who

were present there and the saints together pleaded with Lord Shankara

to remain there. In view of the welfare of the world, Shiva decided to

stay there in the incarnation of Bheema Shankar JyotirLinga.

Self-emanating Mahadev, in the shape of a chariot, the mountains have

become the abode of BheemaShankara. It is also known as Rathachala.

One Bhatirao Lakadhara (wood-cutter) used to live here. Once he was

cutting some wood. Just as he struck the tree with his axe, blood

started to flow from the earth. Bhatirao got scared and ran away.

Soon, a crowd had gathered there. Someone brought a milk cow and made

it stand there. The milk that came from the cow's udders stopped the

bleeding of the earth. Surprising everyone, a glowing JyotirLinga of

Shankara, emanated from the earth. People built a temple there and

installed the JyotirLinga in the temple. This temple eventually came

to be known as Bhima Shankara temple.

Jai Sai Ram!

Always there is some or the other power that saves me from my hassles.

One day, I was very depressed with things going around me. At night,

soon I slept; I reached Shirdi with my family members in my dream.

BABA himself was standing there blessing everybody, and soon my turn

came for his blessing he turned away from me,

I said him that " why are going away , you won't bless me " , soon he

turn to my side, and I said " are u with me " , he said " I am with you

forever " and he went away.

And since that day, I have never faced any problem, if any problem

arises, I really can't understand how it is been solved. It's all

because BABA is with me every time. I love him the most.

Thanks for everything he has given, he has made things so beautiful a,

which I can never imagine. When ever I feel depressed, I can feel his

warmth, as if he is hugging me.

BABA bless all.

SaiRam!

I wanted to share something with you all. When I came US I felt so

bad that I didn't had anybody to guide me. While I was thinking, Sai

came in my dreams and He told me that keep Saburi in Him. I kept

Saburi in Him, after months later, I got a dream. In that dream Sai

told that He was going to guide me in my entire life. That was

wonderful dream. I could see that dream is working in my every

fraction of second. He really working with me and guiding with me in

my every step. I am so thankful to Sai Baba that he listened my all

anxieties and worries. In my experience, I could tell that no one in

this world could help with everything except Sai. If we have faith,

Sradha and Saburi he is there for us.

Again Sai I am offering all my pranamas to you.

8. SAI WITH CHILDREN:

http://www.saidarbar.org/HTML/portraits/7.jpg

Smt. Madhu Gopal Ravada, Saidarbar, Hyderabad.

Hello Children! I am Madhu aunty. Do you know Baba use to play with

children and used to tell stories to them? I felt children visiting

Saidarbar should be entertained with good stories. For the last 2

years I have told you about Lord Krishna's Leelas and Lord Rama Story.

Now I want to tell the stories what heard in my child hood.

THE DONKEY AND THE TIGER:

A Washer man, named Vilas, lived in the old city of Hastinapur. He was

a mean and cunning person and had a donkey for carrying the huge loads

of clothes to and from the washing ghats. The poor donkey was given

nothing to eat and barely survived on the scraps found on the roads.

Vilas realized that this could not continue for long as the donkey

would die of hunger and malnutrition. He started thinking of ways and

means to feed the animal without spending any money.

In the end he hit on a plan which was the ' if he covered the animal

with a tiger skin in the night, people would take it to be a real

tiger and be afraid of it. The donkey could then enter the fields with

standing crops and have its fill of cereals'.

It happened exactly in the manner he had planned. Every night he would

camouflage the donkey with a tiger's skin and release it from its

tether. The donkey would enter the nearby corn field and have its fill

of the choicest ones. The farmers thinking it to be a tiger ran away

out of fear leaving the donkey undisturbed.

This continued for quite some time until the farmers were fed up this

recurring loss. They then laid traps and called hunters to kill the

disguised animal.

One of the hunters hid himself in the cornfield by covering himself

with a mud-streaked cloth. However the shape of his silhoutte made him

appear like another donkey to the animal.

Pleased to see one of his tribe the donkey started braying aloud'

Hee-haw, Hee-haw' brayed the donkey thus giving himself away.

The hunters hidden in other fields all stood up with surprise and shot

arrows at the donkey covered with tiger skin. Soon the animal lay dead

and when the tiger skin was removed the farmers came to know of the

trick Vilas, the washer man, had played, as they all knew it to be his

donkey.

They caught hold of him too and beat him black and blue. It was only

after he agreed to pay them for their damages that they let him off.

Thus he lost all his savings.

LESSON: ' You can make a fool out of someone some times. You can not

make a fool out of someone all the time'.

Bye children meet you in the next issue

Holy Shri Sai Satcharita another Gita.

Sai Satcharita is like the Bhagavad-Gita the quintessence of the

Upanishads.

All the Bhaktas of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba referred in Sai Satcharita are

like Spiritual Grandeurs around Sri MahaVishnu. The Blessed author of

Sai Satcharita (Hemadpant) is like Calf. The nectarine Sai Satcharita

is the Milk and The Pure minded are its Consumers.

Just as the Calf drinks some Milk and the bulk consumed by others,

Sai Satcharita benefits the entire humanity although it was the

inspiration gained by the Blessed Author (Hemadpant).

Sai Satcharita had been hailed as antidote to the worldly Bondage and

a Manual for daily life. The Upanishads / Scriptures are tense and

directive in nature where as

Sai Satcharita is communicative and so appeals even to the layman who

may be finding belief in the Sath guru – Lord Shri Shirdi Sai Baba.

Thus, Sai Satcharita explains the identity of the Self and the

ultimate Reality.

May His infinite Grace/Consciousness Shine upon this humble effort to

pay homage to His respondent life and teachings.

10. LETTERS FROM SAIDEVOTEES:

" K V R Rao "

Mon, 10 Jul 2006 10:02:28 +0100 (BST)

Sai Ram!

Parithranaya Sadhunaam Vinaasaaya Chadushkrutam. Dharma

Samstapanaaardhaya Sambhavami Yuge Yuge!

The Lord Krishna assured in Dwapara Yugam that he would be born again

and again to put an end to atrocities and to restore Dharma. Shirdi

Sai proclaimed in Kaliyugam whoever is engrossed in my Leela will

attain gems of knowledge. My staunch devotees will be free from the

shackles of disease or death rebirth cycle!

Sri Ravada Gopala Rao Garu, popularly known as `Sai Banisa' gives a

very pictorial, logical, analytical description to proclaim Sri Sai

baba as `Datta, Rama and Krishna!'

Tracing back to various Avatars of the Lord, Sai Banisa has co-related

Sai Baba's Avatar with that of Sri Dattatreya, Rama and Krishna. He

has cited many examples and illustrations to prove his theory in his

C.D. with Sri Sai Satcharitra in Telugu.

In the 1st C.D. Sri Sai Sampurna Dattavataram - Sri Sai Banisa - has

elucidated Dattatreya's Avataram which continued in Sri Pada Sree

Vallabha and in Narasimaha Saraswathi and which culminated in Sri Sai

Baba's Avatar. Sai Baba has never directly called himself Dattatreya's

incarnations, but we can infer this from a few incidents in the Sai

Satcharitra. To quote one incident, he appeared before Khojo as Bala

Dattatreya.

Sai banisa says " The word `Sai came into existence even in the

description of Lord Krishna as `Vatapatra Sai and Lord Vishnu as

`Sesha Sai'. In his C.D. Bhagavatam Lo Sri Sai - he illustrated with

many instances how Sai is Krishna himself. When Prahlad and Dhruv

prayed to Krishna as young boys, Bapurao prayed to Sai as a young boy.

Since Brahma is great creator of the Universe, he was worried that

like any human being, he might fall a prey to egoistic feelings. So he

prayed to Lord Vishnu to relieve him from such a feeling. We see the

same situation with Hemadri Panth. When Hemadri Panth offered to

present a write up of Sai Baba, He suggested that he should first give

up his ego.

In the 3rd C.D. Ramayanam Lo Sri Sai Sai Banisa interpreted how Sai is

an incarnation Rama of Ramayana. Rama lived in the heart of Hanuma.

Sai proclaimed `I live in the hearts of my devotees.' When Siva

swallowed poison (Garalam), he prayed to Rama to come out of the pain.

In the present day `Sai Rama nama' helps people to come out of their

misery. Sai himself proclaimed, read hoist the flag of Vishnu

Sahasranama on the ship of misery across the ocean of samsara.

This is just a curtain raiser to Sai Banisa's research oriented

project. It needs a lot of spade work and logical analysis of all the

scriptures. His speeches are highly informative and captivating. With

a mainly voice, his speech flows on with clarity to keep the audience

spell bound.

All three CD s can be down loaded from

http://www.omsrisai.org/SaiDattaAvtar.mp3

http://www.omsrisai.org/SaiinRamayan.mp3

http://www.omsrisai.org/SaiinBhagwat.mp3

As Sai Baba lives in the hearts of his devotees, Sai Banisa lives in

the realm of Sai Baba and he invites us all to be showered by the

blessings of Sai Baba and to come out of our misery, suffering with

`total surrender to God'.
