My barber has a pretty good handle on the nature of reality.

He is an expert on global warming, world politics, comparative

religious studies, baseball and women.

And just think......all that with an eigth grade education.

And with all your learned wisdom and all those degrees you may have

acquired over a lifetime, you're still having problems hiding your

core belief of being an inferior and unintelligent individual by

inexhaustibly performing the wannabe guru on this list, and most

likely on many others groups.

An Invitation to a Dialogue

This is an invitation to a dialogue. This dialogue may take

many forms. Dialogue is the unifying expression of duality.

It is the one embrace of the apparent two.

The totality of life is inclusive of all forms and, recognizing this,

form attempts to see the formless in the other.

This is not the dominance of one over the other, or the instruction

of one to the other. This dialogue is inclusive of the other.

It may be the inspection of the inner and the outer. It may be a

dialogue with our wife, our husband, our child, our friend. It may

be the unexpected meeting on a busy street, the beauty of a newly

opened flower, the empathetic response to someone's pain. It is the

dialectic of life with itself.

We are all part of this vast conversation, the play of life in its

apparent parts and its undeniable oneness. As we converse, let us

find our way back to the POINT of our conversation, the beginning of

our play with ourselves.

When we speak to each other, let us recognize that we are speaking

to ourselves.

When we meet each other, we are not meeting a stranger, we have

simply forgotten that we have already met, already conversed so many

times. This is The dialogue.

Let us invite this dialogue in our lives.

Yesterday, Patricia, Bill and I sat, for a time, in the Rainbow Bean

and discussed this very thing.

Three caravans merging at an oasis.

Three galaxies swirling together.....sharing stars.

Beautiful.

That which came through them was nectar.

They crossed this path at a time when it had entered the

shadowlands.....and cooled this desperate mind.

They took me to the top of the mountain.......where I could see the

place I was born.

I love their words but do not revere the tongue that spoke them.

I now know.....beyond doubt......they are who I am...reaching out

through time...to caress this lovely face......with its own lips.

a song in untold part harmony, sung a cappella without a sound for

all around:

For the benefit of Mr. Kite

There will be a show tonight

On trampoline.

The Hendersons will all be there.

Later Pablo Fanques Fair;

What a scene.

Over men and horses, hoops and garders,

Lastly, through a hog's head of real fire;

In this way Mr. K will challenge the world.

The celebrated Mr. K

Performs his feat on Saturday

At Bishop's Gate.

The Hendersons will dance and sing

As Mr. Kite flies through the ring.

Don't be late!

Misters K and H assure the public

Their production will be second to none

And, of course, Henry the horse dances the waltz.

The band begins at ten to six

When Mr. K performs his tricks

Without a sound

And Mr. H will demonstrate;

Ten summersets he'll undertake

On solid ground.

They've been some days in preparation.

A splendid time is guaranteed for all

And tonight Mr. Kite is topping the bill.

....bob and the beatles......hey! that sounds great!(without a sound)
