being fully aware in the moment is both

the means and the end. As it must be.

I think that what you are describing is the basis of several forms of

psychotherapy.

 

One tries to spot the: " how what when where and why " for the sake of a

more complete confrontation or pervasion of the problem.

 

If this fails it fails because the individual sets themselves up, " the

one who confronts " , as an opponent to " the one who is the problem " .

Doing that only strengthens the ego because it is just more of the

same old playing the game of life by having a battle. In doing this,

the ego removes pieces of itself, is successful at overcoming an

enemy, and so becomes stronger.

 

So... I don't believe that the ego can remove or understand the ego.

That is my egoic opinion on the subject;-)
