Holes and thoughts.

My manager said:

 

Moment you find yourself in a hole;

first thing to do is to stop digging!

 

Once you stop digging, look outside,

look up, look in the direction of

light* and see what is there and see

where you want to go.

 

 

Once you do that finding your way out

will become easy!

 

 

 

If we use same analogy to " thought " it

becomes like:

 

Moment you realize, you are stuck in

painful thought; first thing to do is

Stop Thinking!

 

Now, look in the light of your own

Presence, Awareness, Consciousness...

look where you want to go, what you

want to feel, what you want to think...

 

Once you do both of these, you might

find that the hole [of stressful

thoughts] has disappeared!

 

 

 

That has been kind of my experience....

 

Have you ever tried it? What is your

experience?

Experiences come and go. Why get stuck in the impermanent?

 

But if it works for you, and you are happy....more power to you.

You stop thinking by... meditation.

 

and, many, many people around the globe

do it.

 

 

When someone asks me to 'not think' of 'monkey'...

 

I don't try to 'not think' of 'monkey'

I focus on thinking of something else...

like roses, lakes, rivers,

oceans or I just concentrate on

thinking of one thing... Empty Sky...

 

When my thoughts go somewhere else,

I bring it back again... and, as I

do it becomes easier and easier...

 

 

Similarily, 'not thinking' I find quite simple

and once I have done it I have 'learnt' it.

Now, I can simply 'remember' how it feels...

and, there it is... I feel it right now!

 

Same way, when I know how 'love' feels...

I know how to feel it pretty much anytime!

 

When I know how 'happiness' feels, I can

pretty much feel it anytime I remember it.

 

 

I am sure, you know it too!

 

Any 'feeling' that we have had and expereinced,

we are able to recreate.

 

Remeber, how we were/are able to create 'lust',

'anger', 'rage', 'hate', 'sadness' simply

by trying to 'remember' it... or, simply

by trying to 'create' them!

 

Remember, how we were/are able to *act* them

in dramas.

 

Well emotions like LOve, Happiness, Paece

are not that different.

 

One way I get into 'no thought' is simply

by remebering how PEACE feels like.

 

By remembering how Meditation feels like!

 

 

And,

 

Mediation = Peace = No thought

 

 

 

I also use many other techniques that you might

already be well aware of and I am very sure that

I am not the only one who does it.

.... it only understand 'positive'!

 

Ask it to 'lose weight' and it will gets stuck with 'weight'.

 

But, ask it find a way to fit into size 8 jeans... and,

to run 10 mile marathon... it might find a Way!

 

Ask it to 'not think'... and, it will get stuck with 'think'

but, ask it how exactly 'peace' feels and it might show

you the way...

You 'stop' 'thinking' because you start

doing... something else!

 

And, that something else is... Meditation!

 

And, many, many people around the globe

do it!

 

And, once you 'learnt' it, you can do it

These are interesting ideas..........but they will never

work........for one very good reason:

 

 

They are ideas....hoping to repair that which exists only as an idea.

It is not about 'fixing' 'I', T!

 

It is about fixing a 'body'!

 

And, 'doctors' do it all the Time!

Hey this is great advise for your own idea of self. This is a good

prescription for you Doc. As you can readily see you have no diseases

to fix among the equally dead.....and no ideas to repair

there.......dead men don't think ideas nor wear plaid. But you enjoy

hearing and reading yourself don't you? Such a wise fellow.

WRONG! There is neither a material nor a conceptual world. For that

matter no holy nor spiritual world. World is an Idea of That which we

know not and never can. Fixes do not exist for any World

Idea...nothing is broken or unrepaired in Perfection......All is

Perfect....defects exist only in the eyes of 'beholders'.

If 'intention' can exist, it is not a property of a 'beholder' and

thus the conceptualized singular unit is without recourse to 'fixing

up' anything or anyworld of any material or concept. This is kid's

stuff really.
