Guest guest
>> I had seen many of my friends following a 'diet plan', getting very lean and energetic, raving about it and staying on it for some time and again going back to the old pattern of eating and gaining weight. I have seen many of them going through several episodes of these cycles. I had seen that two common elements of the *instances* of my *being in flow* were: - Sustained Awareness - Clarity of thoughts* Sustained Awareness was the most important of all instances of *flow* that had lasted for more than a day. It meant that I stayed present to watch what was going on and monitored what thoughts I was *importing*. It meant that I monitored both the *quality* [aligned with reality or opposite to reality, peaceful or stressful] and *quantity* [useful, necessary, purposeful, helpful] of thoughts! I then *entertained* only those thoughts that seemed *peaceful* and/or *useful*! In a way, this was similar to being on a Diet Plan - where we watch what we eating eat and we eat only what is nutritious, energetic and light! We don't try to eat whatever falls near our hand [or mouth] and then hope we will stay fit, healthy and lean! We know the best *power* we have is *before* we allow something enter our system! We know that unconsciously *consuming* everything and *hoping* that it will have no *effects* - doesn't work! We know that whatever we *intake* is likely to *change* us in some way! We further know that whatever we *intake* - we [our body or... mind] will " have to " process! We know that each *processing* takes *energy* - an energy that will not be available for something else! And, we further know that whatever we *intake* will complete its cycle including its 'exertion' else it will get deposited like a 'toxic waste' [residual stress] in our Body! I noticed that *thoughts* worked in Very Much Similar Way in many respects! Best power that I had was before *letting them in* [processing them]! But, once they had entered the system - they were likely to complete their *full course*, they were going to require *processing* and they were going to have their impact! I noticed that I did my bodymind a huge disfavor by *stuffing* it with unnecessary, stressful and toxic thoughts! After following a 'diet plan' for a while - it was still *easy* to fall prey to little sugar and hen little more sugar... and, then falling completely into *unconscious* 'habitual' eating! And, it was also so with the *Clear Thinking*! After experiencing Peace and Clarity for a while... I many times fell prey simply by *trying* to *drift* i.e. by simply 'trying to be unconscious'! I said let me try this; let me try that kind of " thought activity " and it ultimately took me back to my old pattern! I noticed as it needs continued vigilance to observe *what you eat*. It also takes continued awareness to monitor what thoughts I 'let in'! I was till up to us ad there was [yet] no pill that could do it for us. Yes, observing a 'vigilance plan' for a while made it easier and easier, more and more *natural* and *effortless*! Yet, when *slipping* was allowed, gradual falling back to the *old pattern* was always possible!

Hi AC, as always I am glad to read your statements and touched by their openness and stunned by the bells they do ring... It comes to my mind that falling from paradise... is seen by some as a gift! When you previously had adapted your wishes of " how things should be " to " as they are " you should have come (if successful) to a state where: becoming unconscious losing clear thinking drifting back to old patterns... are also seen " as is " and also being fully accepted. But the dark side was too strong... to be accepted! I have read at http://www.ranimu.org from someone who became un-enlighrened, haha! " When we realize that the path we are on is not at all what we thought it would be, and that reality is something completely different than all our illusions about it, we are shocked. This is not an easy transition to make. It is extremely painful and it feels like being skinned alive. And yet this pain magically opens us deeper to what and who we are. Enlightenment comes to life when we embrace our endarkenment in the very same way. We realize deeply that our human reality will always be here, that pain will always be here, that suffering is an integral part of human life. Either we suffer unconsciously or we do it consciously. We realize that the freedom we thought we had found in the bliss and joy of the Enlightenment high is not the real freedom at all. It is much deeper. It is truly accepting what IS.
