Your mind is just a bag full of wonderful ideas stolen from books and teachers meant to avoid facing what you really are and that needs tremendous courage and not just indulging in beautiful phrases and slogans. We do this in many many ways. One of which is to show one another the spaces in our hearts where light has not yet reached. In the spirit of love and friendship. " The Buddhist tradition has a lovely concept of friendship. This is the notion of the 'Kalyana-mitra', the 'noble friend'. Your Kalyana- mitra, your noble friend, will not accept pretension, but will gently and very firmly confront you with your own blindness. No-one can see their life totally. As there is a blind spot in the retina of the human eye, there is also in the soul a blind side where you are not able to see. Therefore, you must depend on the one you love to see for you, where you cannot see for yourself. Your Kalyana- mitra complements your vision in a kind and critical way. Such friendship is creative and critical, it is willing to negotiate awkward and uneven territories of contradiction and woundedness. " John O'Donaohue " Anam cara " . And feeling is how the blind 'see'. what are we seeing? what are we feeling? which story are we telling? LONESOME MOON The stories we tell are telling on us, thunder rolls in, the sky opens and storms on men nakedly dance around campfires flames lick the wind tales of glory, tales of woe, twice told tales, yet there is a delicate balance in the perfect silence that holds all things close to its breast, the owl speaks kindly to the night air, shooting stars pass this way but once, the lonesome moon knows this, and the rain falls come what may.
