Courage - the first and last spiritual choice.

As I have seen courage is the first

*choice* that an aspirant needs to make

on the spiritual path!

 

As I have seen Courage [to face the

fear of *death*, courage to go beyond

the 'need' of the 'ego' 'self', courage

to stop caring for 'self] is also the

last choice that one needs to make on

the spiritual path! Everything beyond

that happens on its own... effortlessly

and naturally! It is truly as if the

gates of heavens are opened through the

willingness let 'self' die and the

surrender of the ego's 'survival'

'instincts'!

 

Pretty much every spiritual path that

I have studied has taught it in one way

or the other! They have taught that the

walking the way to the *heaven* takes

courage to face the devils [of the

mind]. Be It requires dropping

*guards* as in surrender [that requires

*dropping* 'instinctive' safety

guards], be it facing death as in the

sacrifice of the self or be it inquiry

as taught by Byron Katie [that requires

openly seeing through the *fears* of

the mind]!

 

Courage is one of the Prime

Requirements to walk on any of these

paths!

 

Yet, through my studies and

observations, I have realized that

there is something that seen most

students and even teachers seem to miss.

 

Courage [to go beyond 'self'] is not

just a *on time* *choice* - it is a

*continual* choice and pretty much,

this is the Only Choice that a human

has to travel in the realms of the

divine and beyond the 'instinctive'

'survival based' 'programming' of human!

 

 

The Courage - the *ability* to travel

beyond 'instinctive' fear exists in

each and every human and yet, it is

also true that each human is hard-wired

to be driven by 'survival' 'instincts'!

 

Where I have seen many aspirants and

teachers fail is in their " assumption "

that once they have traveled beyond the

'ego' 'self' - they have permanently

broken the 'instinctive' programming of

survival based fear! In my own

experience and observation, this is

neither true or possible or necessary!

 

In my own experience, there is no

point at which 'survival' based fear

dies and perhaps, it can not die

because to large extent it is necessary

for the biological survival of the

entity and is programmed by the nature

itself! Yet, the MIND has POWER to 'let

go' of this 'instinct' without needing

to eliminate it at the biological

level. And, each time the MIND does

that the 'grip' of survival based fear

weakens and so does its frequency!

 

Yet, as a *choice* - fear of loss as well

as the *ability* of courage [to pay any

PRICE and face even Death Openly]

exists in each and every human at

all times! One guards the doors of

the *hell* and doesn't allow the

" exit " unless it is faced FULLY!

The other holds the key to the

Heaven and doesn't allow the

[fear based] 'self' to enter!

What I have found even More Fascinating

that under no circumstances

you can smuggle anything of *hell*

[including instinctive survival based self]

into Heaven!

 

And, you can not *smuggle* anything of

heaven into the *hell* - i.e. you can not

really be driven by *greed* [rewards,

appreciation, name, fame, power, money, sex],

*fear*, anger, shame or hate and yet, at the

same time, abide in Peace, Love or joy!

 

 

Theses are truly two differently dimensions

that doesn't mix together.

 

You can not take your 'person' into

heaven!

 

You can not abide in the heaven without

leaving your 'person' behind!
