In 300 years of British rule India went from being world's richest to one of the poorest. These FACTS tell story of themselves!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_India .... An estimate by Cambridge University historian Angus Maddison reveals that India's share of the world income fell from 22.6% in 1700, comparable to Europe's share of 23.3%, to a low of 3.8% in 1952.[15] .... > > Take Mountbatten out of the equation and one is left with Ali Jinner > and the Muslim League, and they wouldn't settle for anything less > than partition and a Pakistan. In 60 years since Indian Independence, BJP (or RSS) has been in power for only 6 years! By doing this, you given me great reson to suspect your knowledge, impartiality and motives. Am I wrong in doing so? What are you thinking Tony?

The only claim to fame is he is a devotee of one the world's worst pedophiles and criminal gurus sai baba. He probably visits the pedophile brothels near the ashram. I have no argument that the British exploited India. However the Destruction of the Mosque at Ayodha the attacks on Christians and Muslims by groups associated with the BJP, RSS, Seva Sena etc show that the Muslims had much to fear in a united India without the Pax Brittanicum, selfish or not. I have already said India is one of the most corrupt and caste ridden societies on the planet, hardly any of Gandhi's teaching have been carried through--just lip service. Why do you think so many Dalits are becoming Christians, and Buddhists? Having said that India is also the repository of great wisdom and Vedanta although most of the knowledge is now being reintroduced by westerners.............I call a spade a spade.......no motive no agenda....Tony. I suspect that either your knowledge is flawed or your motives are twisted. You seem to be representing just one side of the story and that too in very " exagerrated " way. Considering very large population of India, there has been very, very few attacks on Muslims, Christians! There has been and are many cabinet ministers from Muslim and Christian community. Many of the top most and most popular Movie Stars in India are Muslim. The Indian national Cricket [most popular sports in India] team has 4 Muslim players. > I have already said India is one of the > most corrupt and caste ridden societies on the planet, On exactly what basis do you make that " allegation " ??? > hardly any of > Gandhi's teaching have been carried through--just lip service. However I have spent enough time in India to see it is an open sewer in the main, with the Dalits living in the shit. Whilst the Brahmins lord it over all, and the middle class wallow with new found wealth in Western material and sexual decadence. There are literally millions upon millions of untouchables/Dalits or Harijans as Gandhi called them. There is over a billion people in India, with a rich middle class of 300 million, how many poor people are there? Where have Gandhiji's teachings gone to? That is my point my friend.......no side to take there, unless you mean taking the side of the exploited children, the burned wives, or the abject poverty of the lower classes whilst others live in luxury like in pre revolutionary France...........Tony

I greet that place where you and I are one. I salute the Light of God in you. I bow to the divine in you. I recognize that within each of us is a place where Divinity dwells, and when we are in that place, we are One. My higher energy salutes your higher energy. The God in me sees and honors the god in you. May the God within you, bless you In other words, it recognizes the equality of all, and pays honor to the sacredness and interconnection of all, as well as to the source of that interconnection. Namaskar is the term for such greetings, and is also used as a greeting itself. How quickly we forget in keeping our 'status quo' of separation and conserving what is 'ours' and ours alone. However if you think what I said was untrue, then you live in a fantasy. India is a third world country and many villages have nothing but open sewers etc etc, not including the streets of some main cities....My experience in talking to many Brahmins about Dalits was akin to talking to a wall that continually falls on people, that's what I meant. Gandhi is betrayed in India look for yourself...enough said...........Tony
