Guest guest
" THE WHITE LIGHT SPEAKS " Clearly, The White Light needn't speak. When it is merely seen/felt, all things are clarified. But there are those who, having experienced The White Light, find words with which to bring it's afterimage forth, and thus to facilitate openness to it's further emergence. W (The White Light): There is no cause, nor effect, nor time, just eternity, now. There is no power, nor is there control. S (We Shadows): Then who do I blame when things go wrong? And who's to blame for all the evil in the world? W: No one is to blame for anything. Things never go wrong. There is no good or evil in the world. S: Then why does it seem as though things are such a mess? And why is it that we always look for the reason, and how to solve our problems? W: There are delusions. Nothing is ever problematic, thus nothing is ever solved. S: OK, then, why are there delusions? (Gotcha!) W: Delusions have no cause nor effect, nor are they a problem to be solved. S: So, are you saying that it's OK to be deluded? W: Nothing is either OK nor not OK. Everything just is. S: Well, then, what's the difference between a delusion and a truth? W: Degree. One is closer to me than the other. S: And you're saying that we have no choice, no control, over whether we live closer or farther from you, whether we live in relative delusion or in relative truth, or light? W: We may receive the opportunity to live in light, we may seek it, we may wish to replicate it, but we have no choice or control over this, either. Just as when hungry, we may eat, but we have no control over that which we experience as hunger. S: But why are we so actively engaged in controlling and oppressing each other? Surely there are good people engaged in helping others, while there are also bad people, engaged in hurting others. W: This is a delusion. Everyone is merely seeking me by whatever means is available to them. S: How about the torturer, the Hitler, the mass murderer? W: They are merely doing what is required of them, just like you. They're in no more or less " control, power " than you are. S: Then what use is it to blame, to attribute agency and free will to our enemies, and to ourselves, when we do wrong? W: Although these are delusions of power, you are unable to avoid engaging in their folly. Remember, you have no control over whether you believe in power or not. S: Still, then, why am I even listening to you, if there's no hope for me? What are you offering me, if not power and control? W: I myself have no power nor control. I merely emanate myself. The same as you do. S: Then why bother to even say that there's no power or control? W: It's no bother. It's just like a sudden explosion on the sun, a tornado bounding out of an already blinding conflagration. S: And you insist there is no cause of this, nor any effect. You're saying that your words will have no effect on me, as I listen to you here, now? W: I am having no more of an effect on you than you are on me. You might say that we are effecting and causing each other, reciprocally. But if you examine that closely, you see that it is impossible to tell when the cause begins and when the effect ends. They melt into each other in such a way as to be meaningless. S: OK, fine. But when I'm pissed off, I usually need someone to blame for it. And when I'm feeling pretty happy, then I find it easy to forgive. How do you account for that? W: The closer you are to me, the easier everything is. The farther, the less light, the more darkness, the more negativity, the more the need to negate self and other. S: I want to stay in The White Light all the time, and thus avoid all negativity. W: That's the way it is. S: My point is, how do I do it? W: There is no way to do it. Just don't do anything that takes you away from it. S: Well, NOT doing something is a kind of doing. Avoiding is a kind of action. How do I manage to avoid leaving you? W: Is that what you want? To stay in The White Light? S: Yes! W: Do you have power and control over this desire? S: I can't say that I have control over it or that it has control over me, really. It just happens. W: Good. S: OK, but there are times when I find myself surrendering to The White Light, and it's a really beautiful experience. And I feel like just staying there, forever. Then this fear that I won't get other things done overcomes me. So I abandon The White Light. Then I go ahead and get back into the world, with all its negativity. And then it feels as though I have a choice of whether I get back to The White Light, or whether I just keep getting things done. Sometimes I decide to go ahead and bask in The White Light, and sometimes I feel like it's just an indulgence and it's better to get back to work, so to speak. So, yes, sometimes it feels like I really do have a choice. W: You have no choice but to be under the delusion that you have a choice. S: Yes, I do. I can choose not to give myself a choice. W: Why would you do that? S: Just to prove that I have a choice. W: Why would you want to do that? S: I don't know. I just think I have a choice, that's all. W: As I say, you have no choice but to believe that you have a choice. S: Fine, have it your way. W: Having it my way would mean that you are not S, but merely an emanation of me. When you no longer live in the shadows of choice, there will only be me, no you.
