Guest guest
Hello, I'm new here and to the teachings of Nisargadatta Maharaj. I've joined this group in the understanding that I might be able to learn more about what he taught and how this might be applied practically, from some of those who are members of this group. From the little I've seen so far of NM's teachings, I think that they are worthy of investigation and application, in order to understand better their value. In the files section of this group I found one file entitled NisarChosen.doc, which I have started looking through. I'm not sure which of NM's teachings these are; that is, from which book. Perhaps someone else will know and can tell me. The first statement which I have come across and which interests me is: " Earnestness, not perfection, is a precondition to self-realization. Virtues and powers come with realization, not before. (434) " Has NM elsewhere further elaborated on what earnestness in the spiritual life is; how is it to be recognised? How do those who are working with NM's teachings now, understand this in their own lives? Grant
