Well, I just got back from the weekly (my second) meeting at my

Congressman's office--Middle East Peace Forum. 22 in attendance.

(Born from American opposition to involvement in Lebanon,) American

Jews, Christians, Muslim Palestinians, Christian Palestinians,

Muslims, a Japanese Shinto lady, a Nigerian man. Men & women, young

& old. We were given a minute to answer: if you really knew me

you'd know... well, what do you think I said. Nope, Wrong;-) I

said I turned 60 recently and most of my life as been in the

question of who am I. That changed as I changed my thoughts. And

as there were all these voices at the table, the Buddhist/Indian

(Hindu)voice was absent;-) I ascertained everyone believed in a God

or higher power, so I recited this rendition of Namaste: " I honour

the place in you in which the entire Universe dwells, I honour this

place in you which is of Love, of Truth, of Light, and of Peace.

When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, we

are one. " (All at the meeting are admitted pacificts. Supposedly.)

With equal voices we can evolve the possible human--a Universal

Humanity. Thousands of years of practice (some/lots of it being

pretty much inhuman.) Being human? Yup. One at a time.

Someone mentioned further down something about 'touchy-feely'. I

suppose bombs and bullets as they rip the flesh apart are of a

different touchy-feely nature. We'll have some interesting

conversation I should think.

Anyhow, that's my morning and afternoon.

In closing we were asked to answer this: " out of today's

conversation I am motivated to... e/mail my groups to start a group

like this in their village, large or small community. It can't

hurt. And I'm told it's the first one of its kind. Is it?

Metta,

Anna

p.s. Like Arnold: " I'll be bacccccccck. "

hus my dear,

I love you.

The Dance Of Water

This water dance we have learned so well

across the millennia

across the rainbow matter of time

bids us no farewell

nor offers tides of a welcome

and smooth shore to lay our weary nights

like two doves of peace,

in endless screaming flight

searching

for The Promised Land

we shall never leave this space in which

we tremble, hesitate

if only for a moment before this

great wet passion

breaks us

into two

once again

…and this is how we dance

a watery Handel's Messiah

reborn in the ways of clinging to the light

speak

of sharing tongues of taste and God,

how the darkness spins

more than 10000 points of fire

poems of a golden mala

we are thunderous octaves

in liquid flames

empty and yearning

of untamed shadows

…filled with this longing

we embrace one another

cruel and harsh winds lick the scents of Us,

forever captured inside

this grand mystery of how water

can be so silent

… and so we fall once again.

droplets of water

returning to the sea,

waves upon the water,

raised in holy prayer,

begging for more light.
