Guest guest
> Seriously depressed people most of the time > do not know " why " they are depressed. That is not my experience. They start with a " reason " and after an episode of 'long depression', they simply forget the original reason. Once depression starts, unless one is very vigilant, alert and present, pretty soon, it becomes a self sustaining cycle. > It may be a natural reaction to unpleasant experiences, > but also a hormonal dysfunction or a genetic predisposition. And, it is also possible and quite likely that " reaction to unpleasant experiences " causes " hormonal dysfunction " and vice-versa! Thoughts, feelings and hormones are found to be very closely interconnected in many to most cases. When people have sexual thoughts - sex hormones get released into their body - and, they get aroused. But, it also works other way around! When sexual hormones are released - people get aroused - and, when they are aroused - they have sexual thoughts! And, pretty soon thought and hormones start feeding each other! But, of course, in any purely commerce [profit] driven society, it is common for the medicinal drug practitioners [those who make money and gain power by 'selling' drugs to others] to solely focus on the drug that they can sell and make profit from! If by changing thoughts you can get 'off the hook' and not need 'life long' 'treatment' - it is BAD for their business! They might still tell you about thoughts - but, ONLY when they are unable to counter to the *evidence* and only when denying the impact of thoughts has potential to threaten to their business! After all, this is how purely " profit " oriented business is supposed to work!
