I confess my relative ignorance of clinical depression. I have not met anybody whom I know to have been diagnosed with clinical depression and whom I know to be taking anti depressants. In fact, until about 2-3 years back, I didn't even know that there is something like clinical depression and something like anti depressant pill. Can hormones affect mood, yes, they sure can. Can thoughts affect mood, they sure can. Can thoughts affect hormones - they sure can. I will try to investigate, research, understand and write more on the subject. BTW... I have following [mis]conceptions about depression. Can you tell me which of them are true and which are false? 1. Anxiety is more common among men and depression is more common among women. 2. Anxiety means of 'not being sure of' what one feels one needs to do. 3. Depression means 'not having any hope of' being of accomplishing what one wants [and thus feeling 'powerless', 'helpless' and 'hopeless] . For example, one might be anxious about one's son's health and might get depressed if son died [and thus, there is " no hope " of bringing him back]. 4. People with strong " faith " [such as really devout Christians not just the fake ones in white robes] are less likely to fee' depressed because they always have " hope " . 5. Premature 'adavitaist' [no beliefs, no faiths] are more likely to get depressed - because, they can quickly lose hope. Regards, ac
