1. FROM THE SATSANGHS OF SAIBANISA JI

Sai Sevak Smt. Rajeswari Kasturi, Saidarbar – Hyderabad.

INNER PERSONALITY

Realization starts with attempts for the development of the inner

personality of man. Religious ritual, recitation of prayers, pouring out in

charities, etc. are all good in their own way but they do not serve much

purpose if done mechanically without catching the principle behind them. Real

spirituality is not an external show. Sublimation of the inner nature of man

involves a technique different from the one employed in the refinement of

material objects.

Any one moving on the road to the divine land unfailingly retains that

divinity in his mind in whatever he does. He verily considers himself a servant

of God doing only his work through all his activities. Since thus no work

belongs to him, according to his own belief and conviction, he feels neither

elated by its success nor depressed by failure. It is all, according to him,

God’s lookout. The aspirant is just unconcerned with it. His only business and

chief aim is to perform his allotted duty to the best of his ability. If he

deliberately and assiduously adheres to this attitude of detachment in all his

dealings with others, he incurs no sin, no Karma and gets no rebirth.

Then quite in its natural course, his mind turns away from mere

ostentation to real spirituality. It does not stop there. It slowly but surely

conducts him to an inner search of himself and a deeper enquiry into his real

origin, right growth and final goal. Gradually, he gets into a study of the

nature of the Jivatma and its relationship with the Paramatma and that is the

dawning of wisdom on him.

Thus if the Sadhaka is sincere, he can perform his duties prescribed by

scriptures or any Dharma he follows, without refraining from the associated

ritual thereof. But he should try to give it all a new turn and right direction

by changing from the crust to the core, from the glittering cover to the

sterling content.

2. SAI'S NEWS FROM THE TIME MACHINE:

March 1911- Tatyasaheb Noolkar, a staunch devotee of Baba, Sub-Judge of

Phandarpur breathes his last at Shiridi at the age of 48.

March 1912- Dadasaheb Khaparde returned to Amroati. Mrs.Laxmibai Khaparde

stayed behind in Shirdi.

3. SAI IN DREAMS:

http://www.ettitudemedia.com

These are the dream sequences and messages as received by SaiBaNiSaji From our

beloved GURU LORD SAINATH OF SHIRIDI. In Anticipation that this feature will

help in one's spiritual growth are hereby compiled from his personal Diary and

presented to SAIBANDHUS.

Translated and presented by RAGHU RAMAN SATULURY.

03-01-1995

I bowed down before Baba and asked HIM to give a message to Saibandhus

for the year 1995.Sai presented with the following visuals.

A Guru steers you through the worldly matters and extends help in

fulfilling your moral and social obligations, whereas Sadhguru takes you across

the spiritual ocean and marks a path to reach the almighty.

In true sense, love is confined only to the kith and kin, whereas it is

equal for all in spiritualism.

A priest in the temple accepts dakshina for making livelihood, whereas

Sadhguru demands dakshina to part it to the under privileged ones to practice

equality.

Human tendency is to respect people by the presentations and the gifts

they bring in, whereas Sadhguru thinks how to address them with love, affection

and to decide as to what is to be given from HIS spiritual treasure for their

benefit.

Seek the blessings of Samardha Sadhguru on the New Year.

04-01-1995

I prayed Baba to guide me to advance spiritually. Sai has shown me the

following visuals:

No one appreciate a hungry person fasting for the cause of food, whereas

undue publicity is received and sympathy is drawn, when the rich and well to do

people undertake fasting.

In materialistic World, friends and relatives stand by you, whereas in

spiritualism only Samardha Sadhguru renders the support.

Bear the facts in mind to make a beginning.

05-01-1995

Baba, please tell me about the difficulties to be faced while treading

the spiritual path. Sai has shown me in the visual form-

Love for the daughter, lust towards wife and affection towards mother are

detrimental to the spiritual progress.

Attachments are the biggest hindrance for the spiritual growth.

4. QUINTESSENCE OF SRI SAIBABA'S PHILOSOPHY:

(By Late Sri Bharam UmamaheswaraRao)

" Shashi " : shashi_31

27. Maya

Maya is the name given to the Shakti or power of Chaitanya which makes it

appear in different forms. Can we separate Chaitanya from Shakti? We cannot –

just as we cannot separate jaggery from its sweetness and the sun from its

brilliance. The separation comes only at the end of Maya. Maya ends when

Chaitanya is realized. Both Chaitanya and Maya are beginningless. Maya and

Chaitanya are also named Prakruti and Purusha.

Pujya Sri B.V. Narasimha Swamiji explained Chaitanya is a cave and he who

enters into that cave never returns but becomes the cave. He further said

‘Maya’ is ‘Karya’ and has wonderful qualities. I am such and such person, you

are such and such etc is all result of this Maya. All these are unreal

differences.

He further says: that Maya has two aspects 1. The Avarana – covering up

the consciousness of the Soul and 2. Vikshepa – producing illusory appearances

over the covering.

5. SANATANA DHARMA & SHRI SHIRDI SAIBABA

From saisatcharita Chapter XL

In 1917 on the full-moon morning, Hemadpant had a vision. Baba appeared

to him in his dream in the form of a well-dressed Sannyasi, woke him up, and

said that He would come to him for meals that day. This awakening constituted a

part of the dream. When he fully awoke, he saw no Sai nor any Sannyasi. But

when he began to recollect the dream, he remembered each and every word the

Sannyasi uttered in his dream. Though he was in contact with Baba for seven

years and though he always meditated on Baba, he never expected that Baba would

come to his house for meals.

However, being much pleased with Baba's words, he went to his wife and

informed her that being the Holi day, a Sannyasi guest was coming for meals

and that some more rice should be prepared. She enquired about the guest, who

he was and whence he was coming. Then not to lead her astray and not to cause

any misunderstanding he gave her the truth, i.e., told her about the dream. She

doubtingly asked whether it was possible that Baba should come there (Bandra)

from Shirdi, leaving the dainty dishes there for accepting their coarse food.

Hemadpant then assured her that Baba might not come in person but He might

attend in the form of a guest and that they would lose nothing if they cooked

some more rice.

Celebration of HOLY

The celebration of Holy is very ancient in its origin. And by its very

origin, it celebrates an ultimate triumph of the 'good' over the 'evil'. While,

a feast of colors associated with the Holi, is the face of this celebration,

the original reason of celebrating Holi, lies in its soul. And this gives us

the 'why' of this ancient festival.

Literally " Holi " signifies " burning " in Indian language. But, how it

came to be associated with 'burning', is a story. The reference is found only

in ancinet Indian mythology. And It is the legend of Hiranyakashipu, to whom

the celebration of Holi is associated.

There lived a demon king named Hiranyakashipu in ancient India. He wanted

to avenge the death of his younger brother. The brother, also a demon, had been

killed by Lord Vishnu, one of the supreme trio, monitoring the life and death

in the universe, (according to the Hindu belief). To take on Vishnu, the

tyrant king wanted

to become the king of the heaven, earth and the underworld. He performed

severe penance and prayer for many years to gain enough power. Finally he was

granted a boon. Powered by the boon, Hiranyakshipu thought he had become

invincible. Arrogant, he ordered all in his kingdom to worship him, instead of

God. The demon king, however, had a very young son, named Prahalad. He was an

ardent devotee of Vishnu. Despite his father's order, Prahalad continued to

pray to Vishnu. So the demon king wanted to kill his son. He asked the favor of

his sister Holika who, because of a boon, was immune to fire. They planned that

Prahalad would be burned to death. A pyre was lit up and Holika sat on it,

clutching Prahalad. Yet, at the end Prahalad emerged unscathed by the fire, And

Holika, the demon, was burned to ashes. The earnest devotion and complete

submission to Lord Vishnu savedyoung Prahlad. Thus was the triumph of Prahlad,

the representative of good spirits. And the

defeat of Holika, the representative of evil. Later, even the demon king

Hiranyakashipu was killed by Lord Vishnu. But that is quite a different story.

It is from Holika, that the Holi originated. This legend is relived even today

on the Holi-eve when the pyre is re-lit in the form of bonfires. Even today,

people celebrate this occasion. Huge bonfires are lit up every year on the eve

of the full moon night of the Holi to burn the spirit of the evils. Hence the

story associated with the soul of the celebration.

MAURITIUS, February 11, 2007: To mark the beginning of the festivities

of Maha Sivaratri, 1,000 families simultaneously offered rituals to Lord Siva

at the Swamy Srinivasacharya Badarika Ashramam. Several political personalities

were present, including the Prime Minister, Navin Ramgoolam, Lady Sarojini

Jugnauth (wife of the President) and Minister Arvin Boolell. It was an

unprecedented event in Mauritius to have 1,000 Siva Lingams, symbols

representing the God Siva, simultaneously worshipped with water collected from

108 rivers in India by the assembled devotees. Swamy Srinivasacharya Badarika

Ashramam is a sociocultural organization managing a temple dedicated to God

Siva in Forest-Side. Unrecognizable to regular visitors, the Ashramam temple

was completely sheltered under a huge canopy to accommodate the total of 6,000

guests. Traffic was held up in the area of Forest-Side as 350 police officers

diverted cars along the only route which passes through

Curepipe. The devotees followed instructions given in several languages over

loudspeakers. Priests had come from India to assist.

ALLAHABAD, INDIA, February 16, 2007: Siva's most holy day of the year,

Mahashivaratri, was celebrated with pomp by pilgrims taking a holy dip in the

Sangam as the final day of the Ardh Kumbh concluded. The news release

explained, " Massive arrangements had been made for the safety of bathers at the

Sangam and at the ghats in the Mela area. The area reverberated with religious

slogans and sounds. Pilgrims and citizens were seen carrying Ganga jal to be

offered to Shivalingams. Once again, the surface of the Ganga was seen covered

with flowers offered by the devotees. "

AUSTIN, TEXAS, February 20, 2007: On February 11 over 1,000 people

attended the official opening of the Austin Hindu Temple and Cultural Center.

The temple is located on more than 70 acres near the Travis County Exposition

Center in eastern Travis County and is the first traditional Hindu temple in

Austin. U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Austin Mayor Will Wynn helped open

the center during an afternoon ribbon-cutting ceremony. They said that the

center demonstrates Austin's interest in embracing people from different

cultures and that they hope it will draw more Indians to the region. " The

Indian American culture in Texas is enormously well-educated and productive, "

Cornyn said. " I think they will do nothing but enrich the quality of life in

Austin. " Austin's Indian resident has grown dramatically largely because of the

region's high-tech industry, officials said.

NEW DELHI, INDIA, February 16, 2007: Whether it's for a perfect husband or

for the fulfillment of their wishes, many people across the country are

observing a daylong fast today on the occasion of Maha Sivaratri. Celebrated in

honor of the Hindu God Lord Siva, Maha Sivaratri is celebrated on the 13th or

14th day of the dark half of Phalgun (February-March). Said Kasturi Nath from

Assam: " My mother and I are keeping a daylong fast without drinking even water.

In the evening, we will go to the Siva temple next to our home, give offerings

to the Lord and break our fast. " After observing the fast, people give

offerings to Shiva and bel leaves are an integral part of the offering. " Bel

leaves are very sacred since it is said that Goddess Lakshmi resides in them.

We offer these leaves to the Siva Lingam (an icon of Siva) and pray to the

Lord, " explained Sanchari Das of Delhi. " We wash the Lingam every three hours at

night with milk, honey and rose water and chant

'Om Namah ivaya.' This is called 'Prahar,' " Das said. While most unmarried

girls fast on this day in the hope of finding a perfect husband, many married

women and young men also fast. Hymns in praise of Siva are chanted throughout

the night.

Smt. Madhu Gopal Ravada, Saidarbar, Hyderabad.

Hello Children! I am Madhu aunty. Do you know Baba use to play with

children and used to tell stories to them? I felt children visiting Saidarbar

should be entertained with good stories. Now I want to tell the stories what

heard in my child hood.

The story of the bird with the two necks

Once upon a time there lived a special kind of bird which had two necks

and shared a common stomach.

.

One day, one of the heads found a jar of nectar and on seeing this other

head also wanted to taste the nectar but the first neck refused to let it have

it. Enraged, the other neck soon found a jar of poison and it consumed it. The

poison reached the common stomach and both the necks perished.

.

MORAL: Sharing of a good thing with others is always good.

This new format is very good and easy to operate. I am a 'Sathya' Sai

devotee, but it was 'Shirdi' Sai who came to me first, in a dream. He was there

all night; it was like looking at His black & white photo that depicts Him with

his right leg over the knee of His left leg. He never said a word; we were just

gazing at each other all night!

Thank you.
