Guest guest
Sin is what you do because of fear, greed, lust, shame, guilt or jealousy. Once done these acts done because of fear and greed go to feed the cycle of these emotions further. It is a self- feeding cycle which with each repeat breeds more of the same. Cause and effect of sin is pain. Sin is born out of pain, it results in pain and it takes place in pain. Emotions [such as fear, greed, lust, jealousy, shame] that cause it are pain emotions and emotions that they then generate [more of the same greed, lust and fear plus some pride and vanity] too are pain emotions! Physically their counterparts are fight or flight hormones such as adrenaline. Mentally their state is anxiety, irritation, stress, depression and some times. . . fever pitch excitement. Anything you do because of greed. . . is an act of sin. Anything you do because of lust. . . is an act of sin. Anything***** you do because of the effect of fight/flight hormones. . . is an act of sin! And, you feel it! .. . . you feel it while doing it! You see it in its results! While doing it, you feel it in your irregular breathing, your disturbed heartbeat, in your agitated psyche, in your burning/aching body. You see it in your results, because the result of your sin generates more of the same emotions of lust, greed, fear, generates same fight/flight hormones like adrenaline and pulls you further into the cycle of sin. . . cycle of Pain! Given that, can you recognize your sin? Can you recognize your sin at the time of doing that? Can you recognize what percentage of your life; you spend living in sin [i.e. acting because of fear, greed, shame, jealousy or lust. . . driven by adrenaline or driving towards adrenaline]? ------ ****** i.e. anything that you do because of fear, greed, lust, shame or jealosy except INVESTIGATING the motive of your thoughts [and actions]! Because, a sincere investigation, immediately takes you out of the 'cycle of sin' and it has a halting effect on the flow of fight/flight hormones. A sincere investigation into the root of the thoughts removes the root fear and opens the door to acceptance, compassion and love. It enables the flow of the constructive hormones such as endorphins! And, 'acting in love' is ...its own Reward!!!
Guest guest
Seen from another angle, anything done because of the fear based " me " is a sin because this " me " is a child of pain. This " me " is a primarily a survival system and its operating emotions are fear and greed. Anything that you do " in spite of " a me takes you out of sin. While a " me " can certainly come back later and claim " ownerships " of the acts of love, beauty, peace and happiness... in reality, a " me " has no place to live while these " higher " emotions are in charge. These higher emotions come from the Whole while " me " operates only when in strict separation.*** A " me " needs strict, rigid boundaries to survive and operate but, love breaks all such boundaries. A fear based " me " can not co-exist with love because the basis of love is wholeness and unity. Thus, in summary, anything that do for the fear based " me " is an act of sin. Such an act is born out of pain [fear, greed, pride, lust, shame] and it takes you further into the pain [more greed, lust and fear plus pride, vanity, anxiety, stress and depression]. Anything you do in the service of Whole i.e. with wholeness and unity based emotions like love, acceptance, compassion, understanding is an act free of sin. Such an act is born out of love, it operates in the realm of love and its result too is love. And, " why you d " is far more important than " what you do " ; as far as the 'sin' is concerned! --- *** Even pure intellect while it can be used to serve the needs of a fear based " me " , it itself operates at a field far higher than that of the fear and greed which defines the boundaries of egoic me. Guest guest
[...] > And, " why you d " is far more important > than " what you do " ; as far as 'sin' > is concerned! > Sin has very little to do with 'what you do' and a lot to do with 'why' you do it! And, depending on why you do it, the entire energy field in which you operate and the type of the energy you bring in, changes dramatically. Love brings wholesome healing energy to everything it does while fear and greed bring destructive divisive energy into everything. While love by its very presence, promotes unity, compassion, acceptance, understanding and ultimately love. The energy generated by fear and greed breeds destruction, disharmony, division and pain. If you ever made love out of pure " love " in place of " lust " ; you may very well know how different these two modes of " making love " can be and you also know how vastly the energy on which they operate differs. If you were ever a recipient of such love [even as a " giver " ], you know how different they feel and how differently they affect you without doing anything that different from another. Similarly, if you ever raised or taught a child, you know how different it is to teach, raise, guide and discipline a kid can be because of whether it is done because of anger, control, because of personal goals and ambitions... or as noble act and responsibility out of unselfish love! While the acts being done might look similar on the surface, their energy level and affect is dramatically different! If you were ever a recipient of such discipline and guidance yourself [versus the one born out of control, anger, parental ambition], you must also realize how fortunate you have been! While one sooths and nurtures like the warmth of the heaven, the other feels like the fire of hell! To sin, or, not to sin, we only need to examine and understand the cause of our acts and thoughts. Once we do that, we know when we are acting in accordance with love versus when we are 'acting in sin'. We know sin by examining the why of our thoughts and actions and by feeling and understanding the energy frequency in which we operate while we do that. Because we know even while doing exactly same thing, the energy of love feels vastly different that of fear, greed, shame and lust.
