hi diana..ontario is the place. whereabouts in our province did you

sojourn? indeed in winter the climate can be incredibly glacial like

and bleak...almost preternatural and insensate. but strangely, the

alone can, and does, face the ALONE on the snow swept fields of

eternity during these times, in the depths of our winters... an

unspeakable inclusion of romantic mystery ...... and then at a moment,

in the enigma of time's journey, at the ripening of the newborn

vernal season, the sweetness of springtime is known so deeply in the

marrow and mind as to become a living presence of joy unbounded.

how is the climate in south wales? where there are you?

..b b.b.

p.s.

thank you for the compliment.

hamilton..in the wonderful niagra peninsula. we go right through and

beyond there every summer to attend the shaw fesiival at

niagra-on-the-lake during theater season. that's a great live theater

venue that now challenges the shakespearean productions in stratford

(on the avon)in the more central southwestern part of the province

near london.. we always make a week of it and attend both festivals of

stages. world renown actors and directors make for many times to

remember. and in niagra-on-the-lake, often times during the days and

evenings, festival attendees can find well known players dining and

shopping and mingling throughout the victorian styled and historic

village with all it's quaint shops and historic sites. it's so much

more fun and enjoyable than the broadway type scenes in

toronto...though i don't want to say that they are in any way non

equal..it's just that unlike t.o. and nyc etc. there is an air of

freedom and comeraderie in stratford and niagra-on-the-lake that is

altogether absent in the big city venues. also, hamilton is very close

by brantford..home of wayne gretzky AND hamilton is the home the

'dundurn castle', now a city museum, and built by Alan McNab my

gandmother's grandfather...we visit there often too, to view the

painting portraits on the walls and try to establish among ourselves

just who it is that most resembles our forbears. always fun and silly

too. and here too the weather does moderate now...soon boating and

fishing will be the day's delight. summer! the very best time of the

year here.

erie here, bringing the great flow from lake superior through lake

huron into little lake st. claire, run through the detroit river on to

here to flow on to niagra falls and lake ontario and onward beyond to

the st. lawrence river and the gulf of st. lawrence and the atlantic
