Hi, Tom- I like what you wrote, I had been there too. The difficulty seems to reside in posing a wrong premise: Consciousness is everything. Try this simple experiment. Pick up any book, and try to read it being conscious of the operations your brain performs while reading. You will find that it's impossible to do both. You either do one, or the other. If you try to think about reading, you won't understand what you read. In fact, try as you may, you won't ever see the process by what you read, or understand it fully. So how can consciousness be everything, and know so little about its own works? The fact is consciousness is no more than a screen, which doubles as the eye who sees it's own reflections. The " I " sense resides elsewhere, in memory. You can describe the " human experience " as matter being aware of itself through the self organization of a biological tissues called brains. The atoms in the brain seeing atoms in the grass. Exclaim, " Ah, that's is me! " Ha,ha, ha! p.s. Atoms, of course, are metaphors of the unknown one who is, at the same time, many. And for a few moments I was in Ireland. Anna

" So Let us say not consciousness but aliveness is everything. I confess I don't understand the saying that consciousness is a screen--a movie screen? You are a suble thinker or maybe a subtle seer, I dont know. This youtube teacher, I lke his presentation. His ideas--I don't understand them but feel they are knocking on the door inside me trying to get out.Tony Parsons is the name. > > > > > > >
