Guest guest
Religion is as natural as any other adaptive survival modality. Man does not base his religion on love for his fellow human beings. Religion is based on the need to protect and propagate the blueprint of the organism. Belief systems evolve to protect those who have similar belief systems concerning the nature of reality. Religion is good for you. Religions.....all belief systems evolve......They evolves defenses against any logic that threatens their survival. They have no reason the overcome any thought process that threatens something with such a profound survival value. The trance is so great and so self sustaining that organisms are programmed to choose death over conversion to logic. Religions have all evolved to protect themselves and insure their own longevity. Some will use simple shunning to exclude non believers The two major religions encourage any followers to kill anyone who deviates from their dogma by stoning them to death. Religion is deeply ingrained and emerges from the same machinery as the desire for wealth and power. The human psyche is programmed to survive. It speaks of God......and love.......and clutches its dagger close. The problem arises when religiosity converges with technology. toombaru

But this is all talk anyway.Every decision and every counter decision will be taken care of by other than any of us--fanatics or otherwise. Science is as natural as any other adaptive survival modality. 2. Man does not base his science on love for his fellow human beings. 3. Science is based on the need to protect and propagate the blueprint of the organism. 4. Belief systems evolve to protect those who have similar belief systems concerning the nature of reality. 5. Science is good for you. 6. Sciences.....all belief systems evolve......they evolves defenses against any logic that threatens their survival. 7. They(Rel./Science) have no reason the overcome any thought process that threatens something with such a profound survival value. (?) ( i'll go along with you here, but i would think they both would have VERY profound reasons to overcome ANY thought process that threatens something like 'itself that has such 'profound survival value'!) (but too ...neither Religion nor Science have 'reason' as an internal power.they very well may be limited to and created by the power of reason...that's reasonable...but neither one are themselves capable of exercising reason to fight.. or overcome.. or acquiesce.. or anything like such.) 8. The trance is so great and so self sustaining that organisms are programmed to choose death over conversion to logic. (?) (Internal Server Error) i'm an organism.. i've 'had' religion'.. never i was told no such thing. 9. Science and Everything Else has all evolved to protect themselves and insure their own longevity. 10. Some will use simple shunning to exclude non believers (and that's a damn good thing) 11. The two major Businesses of Science encourage any followers to kill anyone who deviates from their dogma by politically and financially and socially ending their existence by bankrupting them. (a fate actually a little more cruel than physical stoning but really cool socially as the crowds love to watch even more than even a public hanging or stoning...and it goes on like a sick soap opera so you sure get your bang for your buck. the good old American Way.) 12. Science is deeply ingrained and emerges from the same machinery as the desire for wealth and power. (and to go to the bathroom) 13. The human psyche (and EVERYTHING EXISTENT) is programmed to survive. (this is sort of dumb...to anything that finds existence it's SOLE mission, function, love Whatever...is survival. 14. It speaks of God......and love.......and clutches its dagger close (A+ grade 10 literature) 15. The problem arises when religiosity converges with technology. Uh Oh!!!! Huston We have a problem... Religiosity IS technology and vice-versa. do 'you' " believe " differently? i am not speaking from belief...i speak from Truth. there is even more religion in science then there is science in religion...fortunately or not and frankly it's neither one. it doesn't matter any more than anything in the entire tract above. simply put: things are the way things are... and there are no things.. no religion too.. and no science etc. ask mr. lennon now. but being in an adaptive modality at the moment...fun read toom. ..b b.b.
