Guest guest
I found this as one of the best practices I have encountered: At any moment, when I am Aware. . . - Is what I am thinking, doing, speaking is driven by compassion, kindness, love, awareness and peace or is it driven by fear, greed, anger and unrest? - How, that which I am doing right now, can serve the cause of compassion, kindness, love, beauty, peace and growth? I have noticed that when I am sure that what I am doing is actually serving the cause of compassion, peace and love and of real learning and growth - I don't mind any pain if that is what it feels like in this moment. - What I am doing right now, is it likely to work towards to build a 'habit' [and, thereby building a " me " ] of compassion, kindness, love, understanding and peace or is it likely to build a 'habit [thereby, change " me " ] of unconsciousness, fear and greed? Guest guest
I found it very effective professionally, personally as well as spiritually to ask three questions before each activity (irrespective of the activity being big or small): - What am I doing? - Why* am I doing it? - What is the best way to do it? i.e. what is the way which best meets the values, principles and motives that I want to serve? ----- * Am I doing, what I am doing, because of reactivity or revenge, fear or greed, shame, guilt or lust, anger or jealousy and thereby strengthening them further in me. Am I committing a sin, an unconscious act, that feeds unconsciousness and pain? Or, am I doing it because of compassion, kindness, love, peace, intelligence, reason, understanding and responsibility and. . . thereby, being conscious, responsible and peaceful Right Now and working to build a conscious, peaceful, kind, 'happy' 'person' [person = 'conditioned' human and conditioning = habit] as its result. Do I really want to gift a kind, happy, conscious, peaceful person to. . . the world, and to myself. . . even if it meant Conscious Attention to Why and How of what I am doing. . . whenever I can? Or, would I rather an unconscious " human like " robot driven blindly by impulses, past conditioning, external stimuli and . . . escape the conscious effort involved in being " human " [Conscious]? I think, that is a question. . . we do need to answer time to time!
