" As it is in Heaven " is the title of a fairly recent Swedish film.

It's about a famous composer / conductor who is sick and who returns

to his home town. He left there when a small boy, but no-one knows it

is he who is returning.

He takes over the church choir, and the priest gets jealous - with all

kinds of consequences.

I don't want to give the film away, but in one scene there is a nice

very special " chord " . A harmony of voices.

Just out of interest, has anyone seen it?

Here is a link to it:

It comes about becasue the conductor doesn't turn up for a

performance, so while they are waiting, one of the choir, who

is " mentally challenged " , starts making a noise. Then parts of the

choir begin to join in, adding their bit. Soon the whole choir is

singing, spontaneously. Eventually the whole audience, which is

international, is roused and stand ups up making the same, tuneless

yet harmonious chant. Everyone contributes their special little

talent, young and old, clever, stupid, rich, poor, sophisticated,

simple, in this united, world chorus.

It's like, the man who made the tune happen, the form, the melody, is

gone, so now the voices resume to their natural state. Do you know

what I mean? You have to see the movie I guess. It's one of my

favourites.
