I saw that shifting focus from narrow

self centeredness and its resultant

emotions of fear and greed, towards

higher emotions of compassion, love,

creativity, willingness and peace resulted in a

surprisingly new and very unexpected

perspective:

 

 

- Cleaning my house and organizing my

desk became a service to beauty,

symmetry, order and elegance.

 

- Helping my daughter sit and read in

spite of her wanting to watch TV;

became a service towards discipline,

focus and self control.

 

 

Even more surprisingly,

 

- Buying HDTV became a 'service'

towards innovation and technical

advancements.

 

- Buying the Highest Rated HDTV became

a service towards technical excellence

and efficiency as well as a service

towards Independent Ratings!

 

 

I saw that,

 

- Buying Apple stocks or buying iPod,

buying Google stocks and using Google

products can be a service towards

innovation, creativity thinking,

intelligence and excellence.

 

While,

 

- Buying a stock simply to time the

market, can essentially be a service

towards greed.

 

 

 

- Shopping at Costco might be a

service towards efficiency, service and

fair pricing.

 

While,

 

- Buying items 'on sale' and with

'mail in rebates' can be a service

towards greed, treachery and

manipulation.

 

 

 

Similarly,

 

- Spending money at Starbucks became a

service towards efficiency and service.

 

While,

 

- Eating out at restaurants [and

shopping at stores] where the employees

and waiters look happy. . . became a

service towards happiness

 

as well as possibly towards 'enlightened'

'selection' and towards fair and 'enlightened'

treatment of employees.
