Guest guest
Something happened today that may be worth relating. There seems to have been a prelude to this event or this breakthrough. I was driving--always a good time to get lost in thought--and suddenly looking at the sunny 6 lanes ahead of me I felt as though something was trying to happen in the way of insight. I knew it was connected to something I had read in N.'s book, I Am That--actually it was a quote-- " The whole world comes into being when you wake in the morning.' Well, the insight did not happen just then but it was hovering around for a while. Later I was working, laying out a sprinkler line. I was engrossed in this and it was going well. There was a robin who hopped up and started looking around nearby. It seemed strange that he/she should come so close. I stopped to look harder. She had something in her beak. She was ill at ease, she was searching, she had something to do and I was in the place where she wanted to do it.I looked into the trees to see if there was a nest nearby. No. Well, I went back to work and forgot her.Later, sitting in the ache-leg posture, it happened. I started wondering about the robin--what was she really feeling? And it struck me:What you FELT when you looked at her!Anything else is IMAGINARY.THAT is what is meant by the expression: NO SEPARATION. That is what N. means when he says all you ever know is your own experience.Anything else is speculation. Not real. I could go on but I think the point is made and the implications are clear. I habve been sayingr--is has been my mantra--for 20 years or so that:THE WORLD IS A MIRROR. Yes, it is and more than a mirror.Snuff

It reminds me of something else Niz said, and I paraphrase here because I don't have the book, 'I Am That,' right in front of me at the moment - which makes me wonder how much of his speech was translated word-for-word by others and how much of it was paraphrased. In any case, Niz said something like the following: " You will realize the robin is you when you turn yourself inside out. " Actually, he never said that at all. But he might have said it if he'd had the opportunity when you consider his claim that his inside was outside and his outside was his inside.
