Guest guest
Tony Parson's says on his Youtube clip that there are no levels of Oneness. The context of the remark is somene's mentioning that Ramana used to recommend different spiritual practices to people who came to him, basing his reommendations on the level of their understanding.I have been wondering what Parson's meant by " there are no livels in this " .Surely somebody who can pour gasoline on his body and light it and sit and calmly watch the body burn to death is on a higher level than any of the entrepreneurs of oneness riding the satsang circuits of Europe and America today.I saw this morning that what Parson's meant is:What does it matter if some people can burn their bodies up with equanimity and perfect disidentification if those people are images NOW.NOW there is only THIS HERE and the only place you will find levels NOW is in imagination. YOu may have a very clear memory of the tv news clip of the Buddhist monk who soaked his robes with gas and then sat and burned to death without batting an eye.You may also remember--for contrast--the American minister who tried the same stunt on the grounds of the United Nations complex in New York and ran screaming and rolled himself on the ground in agony( may all budding self-imolators take note). Parsons is saying not that this stuff doesn't happen but that it is not hapening NOW except in the imagination. So quit mistaking those rubber ducks of the imanination for real live flesh/blood mallards in the pool of NOW.

As I read over what I wrote this morning I am surprised to see that I used the possessive form of Parsons--Parson's --three times when it did not apply at all.Porque?Either my noodle is going--very possible--or something important is trying to get said.
