Guest guest
I have become a fan of compassion and, I can see how so many problems in our personal, family, group as well as in the global life are simply caused by our lack of compassion. ~ ~ ~ ~ Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive. Dalai Lama http://hhdl.dharmakara.net/hhdlspeech.html http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/d/dalai_lama.html ~ ~ ~ ~ Compassion is roughly a translation of the Pali/Sanskrit/Hindi/Indian word. . . Karuna. But, I noticed that I understand compassion and karuna as two quite different things. To me, compassion has meant fully accepting 'other's right to exist', fully accepting 'other's right to exist as he/she is', fully accepting other's right to 'behave, act, speak and feel the way she/he does'. Whereas, Karuna, to me, means something 'Godly'. It is looking at everything as if they were our children. It is looking at everything with Loving Care and nurture. Karuna values, loves, appreciates and lovingly acknowledges everything it sees. It looks at them with the eyes of a benevolent parent. . . and, it knows its lovely, god gifted, precious children are doing the best they can do given their current level of growth, understanding, knowledge, maturity and evolution. Given that, blame automatically goes away, violence, hatred, resentment automatically instantly dissapears. . . and, what remains is a Loving Care for the current and future well being of the lovely, growing children of God.
