Guest guest
Many times, when, I asked someone to change, I remember that person feeling very offended and fighting back. Some other times, when the person being spoken to, had trust and faith in me, he/she would agree but, understand that - I am really asking him/her to change 'what (s)he does' only and not 'who (s)he really is'! Anytime, someone asked me to change - I got really puzzled and when, I finally understood and agreed, it was only when I understood that I was being 'requested' to consider changing the way I think, act and behave only, and, not 'who I really am'. Now I understand that the confusion occurred because, in reality, it is impossible to change 'who we are' and everyone of us knows it - Absolutely. Who I am, who you are - never changes - it can not change - and everyone of us knows it. That's why, we get confused when someone talks about changing. Yet, we frequently hear talks about " changing " without any mention that we are only considering changing the way of thinking, acting and behaving and not really 'who we are'. Who we really are, is beyond any change and beyond any need [or, possibility] of change [and, yes, everyone of us, intrinsically knows it because all of us essentially same.] But, 'how we think', 'what we do with what we think' and 'how we act' - yes, that, as is frequently demonstrated - can be quite easily changed - and, in fact, is the very basis of human learning and adapting - and, how a kid bcomes an adult. And, that is the only change anyone has ever talked about.
